Expected a whole lot more, but really nothing out of the ordinary. If you want good Mexican go to a hole in the wall above E 98th street. If you want original cuisine, try any of umpteen restaurants in manhattan. Not much going on here in terms of authenticy or originality....leaving only the guacamole and the margaritas worth noting. Brought some friends here and was thoroughly embarrassed I chose the venue. Makes watching Aaron Sanchez painful on "Chopped"...he has no grounds on which to criticize anyone.

although the food was good, the service for the entire time we were there was awful and the attitude that the server had was just uncalled for. when is it ok for the servers to yell at guest? will never go back or recommend to anyone.

I recently dined at Centrico with my boss and two colleagues, and we had a truly wonderful experience. The atmosphere was tastefully colorful and fun, and a very nice bonus was that it wasn't too loud so we could easily hear one another speak (which is very important as we were discussing business and work matters). We were all greeted warmly and even allowed to sit down despite one of the members of our party not being there. The drinks and food were FABULOUS and very flavorful, and all of the staff was very attentive and thorough with any requests or questions we had. Overall, it was a great dining experience and we will all surely be visiting again.

I was so excited to try this place... so I brought 5 other guests with me just to be disappointed. None of my guest complained, but I would have to say that the food and the service was only satisfactory. I enjoying watching Aaron Sánchez on the food network, and I expected more. I booked a reservation online, and was unable to get one for the time I desired. When my guests and I arrived, the place was practically empty. When the server finally arrived, he explained that they were out of chicken. Yes, out of chicken. Im not talking about out of the chicken special.... out of ALL chicken dishes on the menu. How did that happen. How did someone not order enough chicken? Isn't there a grocery store in the neighborhood? It was only 7:30! I consider that to be a fairly early dinner in NY. I ordered the pork belly tacos. The pork was very dry and difficult to chew and swallow, and the service was lacking. Not a horrible place, but I can't say that I would give it another chance. I guess I will stick with Dos Comino's for Mexican cuisine in the city.

A very satisfying meal began with guacamole in a wooden cup. For drinks, I had a very tasty michelada. Not that I'm very picky or a good judge on these things, but it was the best one I've ever had. I had the entree portion of...something described as Mexican pasta. I'm not sure I would call it that, but it was very good. The atmosphere was very nice: not too dark, not too light. The server was incredibly friendly, although there was a problem with the credit card machine that ended up in my bank calling me the next day inquiring about possible fraud. They shut down my account and I had to reactivate in on a Sunday morning. If they replace their machine, I'd gladly change the service score of 9 to a 10.

I found this place about a month ago and I have been back 4 times since and anytime anyone ask me "Where do you think we should go eat?" I always recommend this place! The food is very authentic, the servers are very friendly and the atmosphere is great. Highly recommend!

Great food. The drinks are lethal, and delicious, get the jalapeno/pineapple/tequila one ... I forgot the name, but so good!

Its actually been several weeks since my coworkers and I visited Centrico, but the memory remains positive - especially of the guacamole. The others also enjoyed their margaritas, but I chose poorly with the chile beer. My chicken mole dish was much more than expected, but quite tasty to the point I felt obliged to finish it off and left Centrico overstuffed. The service was adequate even with a slow night. Ill probably give it another shot sometime when Im hankering for some more guac...

We went with a large group and essentially no one managed to eat anything. Appetizers came at the same time as the main dishes, some of them cold; not that it mattered. An empanada is NOT the size of a rugelach and it is supposed to have filling, not just flavored crusting. My meat had the tenderness of a basketball. Not to mention that we ordered a rioja blanco and it turned out to be a red. Glorious.

I brought a group of 13 friends, many visiting NYC from DC, to Centrico to kick off a bachelorette evening. Not only was the food delicious - the stuffed plantains, melted cheese with chorizo and potato, the short ribs, fish envuelto in a banana leaf, and the chocolate cake with corn ice cream - but the hospitality we were shown was excellent. The staff did everything possible to ensure we had a fantastic dinner and were friendly, helpful and responsive. We set up a prix fixe menu and ordered Chef Sanchez's cookbook in advance, and he took the time to sign the book and, during dinner, came out of the kitchen to say hi to the bride-to-be. Everybody was completely impressed by the food, service and genuine warmth we were shown, especially being such a large group. I will definitely be back!
