Imagine a place that takes the best of everything you love about Asian cuisine and puts in on a menu. That is Chance. And since it's in my neighborhood that makes it even better! I love the food and the atmosphere. A must try! If there is any drawback to the restaurant it is the small space and the difficulty in getting a table on busy nights.

The best Peking Duck I've ever tasted (Chinatown included). The skin was perfectly crispy and the duck cooked to a moist pleasure. The Crispy Shrmp and the Fried Oyster appertizer were very, very good. The service was impeccable, and the manager Ann, came to the table several times to assure that our meal was perfect. I left NY 4 years ago, and grew up in Gowanus projects down the block from Chance. Oh! what a different world on Smith St. now. Please don't miss this restaurant whether you live in Bklyn or another Boro. It is that good, and last of all we were given a complimentary desert, which had a blend of unusual flavors, yet delicious. Get there soon!!!.

I've been to various places with good food but never bothered to write a review. But with this place I just feel that I HAVE TO mention about here. Found out about CHANCE last night searching the internet for a chinese place in Carroll Gardens on nymag.com and menupages.com. What a discovery !!! Went there for lunch around 1pm. The place was almost empty but the interior was encouraging so I took the CHANCE. And boy, was it worth it !!! I chose the seared salmon and the whole dish came on one big plate. Garden salad with delicious ginger sauce, a little spring roll (to die for !!!) with some unbelievably tasty mayo (I think) sauce and, of course, the salmon. I'm not kidding: I already told the waitress she's gonna see me there every Friday. I have no idea how people come up with the negative reviews about this place. I'm going back !!!

we had a dinner last week, i had the prix-fix menu, and my boyfriend had the a la carte. the Foie gras was once in a lifetime! and the lamb chops were just prefect (with the green potato-purre. the sweets were amazing. the chef (cute israeli young guy) came to our table and was very warm and energetic. we'll be back for sure.
