Delicious homecooked food you wont be disappointed -- I just visited CnC for the first time -- had the Miss Patty's Chicken Sammy (grilled chix breast) - loved it......

I've been going to Chat n Chew for years. Always friendly staff and great comfort food at decent price. Red velvet cake is unbelievable. The place is low key and friendly and great to take friends or kids. If you need to find a place to take your parents, this would be it. Ribs were on special once and they were awesome. hope they come back again. Awesome sandwiches too.

For a great local restaurant on 16th street it's Chat & Chew .You can't beat the great tastes from sweet potatoe fries, fresh home baked moist meat loaf, crispy tasting fried chicken & an array of great deserts including choclate mud pie, there the best & the price is a bargin.I've been going back there for years.

If you want to cheat on your diet with the best comfort food without cheating your wallet go here! The mac and cheese is so delicious I refuse to share! LOL And the sweet potato fries are great to pick on with some drinks. The bartenders love to experiment with any drink you like and even have great wines to choose from which was a surprise coming from what's pretty much a family style restaurant. A great place to take the kids or pop in after work for something yummy.

Take Brother Jimmys decor, then remove the party atmosphere and good food. That pretty much sums up the Chat N Chew. This little spot just off Union Square does not have much to offer in comparison to the rest of NYC. The mac n cheese was huge and flavorless, and the turkey burger was not much better. The dining space is awful and filled with little kids, which makes sense because the decor is like I said - that typical family restaurant garbage with random crap all over the walls. Bring kids or someone you hate.

This place is a hidden secret of Union Square. It's off the beaten path, so I don't think a lot of people know about it. The waiter was kind of a smart ass. We didn't know if he was joking or if he was really serious. We ate brunch there and it was great. The decor is great also. Good little find!

I've been to Chat 'n' Chew a couple of times, and it's definitely nice when you find yourself in Union Square at mealtime, you don't have a lot of money, and you're craving some kind of comfort food. I particularly recommend the sweet potato fries - they *are* divine. The service quickly gets spotty when it's busy, though, and beware the a/c in the back - frrreeeezing, even on a hot day.

This place gets a lot of business due to the lack of cheap, casual eateries in the Union Square area. It's great for before or after seeing a movie, or for brunch--though it's very busy on the weekends, so be prepared to wait. The waitstaff is terribly unattentive, but they're so nice about it that you end up leaving a decent tip anyway.
