Good food ruined by rude staff

Our reservation was for 9:00 p.m. and we didn't leave until midnight even though we were the one of the first groups there. Our waitress barely spoke English and didn't know the menu. After waiting an hour and half for food, she brought a bowl of salad for two to share, even though they ordered separate salads. The rest of us waited another 30 minutes for our food. After asking for the check twice, we went to the counter to ask again. Our waitress didn't write anything down and hadn't even started compiling our check. The owner, who started out friendly, turned rude and ordered my friend to sit down. When she addressed the slow service, he blamed our table for waiting for our last friend to arrive before ordering. He and the waitress were completely defensive and lacked the ability to listen to our concerns. He called our friend 'a pain in the ass' and told us to 'never come back.' They had a lot of potential, but completely ruined it. Order within 5 minutes of arriving, or be ready to spend hours waiting around.

I discovered this little gem of a place while out for dinner with a group of friends a couple of weeks ago. Marty the owner was our BFF by the end of the evening! It has a distinct European flavour, in food & atmo (one of my pet peeves about eating out in NY is having my plate snatched away before Ive had the chance to finish...this did not happen here!) The BYOB was also a plus, and the prix fixe was literally enough to feed the 5000....go HUNGRY! Its almost like Marty and his wife are entertaining you in their home, their big smiles and jovial air will definately entice me back!

Went for a birthday, and almost walked right by the place. It's long and narrow with a little pig sign hanging over the doorway. We did a prix fixe for a group of about 8 or 9 people, and the owner, his wife, and the server would not stop bringing out delicious food until we had to tell them we couldn't eat any more. They were extremely nice, the food was unbelievable, and for such a quality mom-and-pop kind of operation, word of mouth is the way they likely get most of their business. Would definitely go back. It is BYO so you can bring as much wine or beer as you'd like and they'll bring it out and serve it when you want it. Great place overall, on Ludlow right off Delancey.

This place is a great idea. I went with a group of 8 or so and we brought our own wine. The food was delicious! Excellet from appetizers to dessert, Even the Ceasar salad was one of the best salads I have ever had. Its definity a great place to take people for a great dinner and because its BYOB it can be very afforadable. The Family owned atmosphere was definitly noticed and appreciated.

I arranged for my birthday party to be at this restaurant because it was BYOB and a good place for groups. The owner was exceptionally accomodating, gave us a great table by the window, and provided us with unlimited delicious plates! All nine of us at the dinner were extremely impressed!

I am actually polishing off the half of my pizza I couldn't finish last night. This place is amazing. The pizza is the best I have found in the city. Two pies stand out to me, the Pigs Fig, and the Pigs Goat. The pigs fig has a fig reduction sauce, gorgonzola, prosciutto, and thyme. The owner Marty tells me it is technically a flat bread, not a pizza but it's my favorite pizza anyway. The Pigs Goat, has caramelized onions, red peppers, golden raisins and dallops of fresh goat cheese, it's truly amazing. I bring people here any chance I get. It's also BYOB, and there's a bodega a couple doors up...

Hands down the best pizza in Manhattan. Bring your friends, bring your wine, and make a night of this exquisite LES find. Prepare to become a welcomed regular; the food and cozy environment will keep you coming back . I particularly recommend the Butcher's Pie...it is an epicurean delight that will trump a steak sandwich any day.

My friends and I started going to Chickie Pigs soon after it opened and have been regular customers ever since. The pizza is made from scratch by the owner Marty, and is baked brick oven style right in front of you. I am big fan of the "Butchers Pie" which is topped with beef tenderloin. Add some carmelized onions and you have the best gourmet pizza in NYC! As a BYOB this restaurant is very afordable and great for groups.

We tried this place the other night in the middle of the week. When we got there it wasn't too busy. we were seated fast, placed our order and had to wait at least an hour for our food. It was unbelievable. On top of it all the waitress was so rude. When we asked why it was taking so long the waitress snapped at us and then started audibly talking about us to the other staff.
It's not just their lack of service - it's as if they are personally offended that you are trying to patronize their establishment. The audacity.

We went in on a cold Wednesday looking for a warm slice in a recommended restaurant. The restaurant was 2/3 empty. The waitress seemed very warm and friendly to the regulars like the other reviewers said, but she ignored us for most of the time with no apologies. We had to ask for water 3 times and then the pizza was burnt. She said that was the way the chef prepared it and that she couldn't do anything about it. The customer service was poor and I would have preferred a $2.00 slice at the chain pizzeria down the street. I wouldn't waste the money or the calories here.
