My compadre and I have been going to Chimichurri once every few weeks for quite a while now: a tradition we love because of the restaurant's understated warmth, organic meat, outstanding wines, beautiful Argentinean music, friendly and fun waitstaff... And in the wonderful parenthesis that is Chimichurri, you can linger over your meal for hours.

Never going back there

Despite great food, we had such an awful customer service experience we will never go back. In spite of us having a reservation, a large table which took up half the restaurant would not get up, so the bartender/manager suggested we wait at the bar and have a drink (that we would pay, of course). We finally decided to eat at the bar, which was kind of uncomfortable. Three of us ordered drinks, 2 appetizers, and 3 salads. The bartender made a face, but took our order. When our table finally became ready some 20 minutes later, the bartender shook her head and said, no, we couldn't have a table because we didn't "order enough." Mind you, this was past 9pm and now the restaurant was half empty. She was so nasty, tapping at the menu, that we paid for our drinks and left. Good luck with that attitude - plenty of other options out there

A Theater District Gem

What a little find! This is a quiet, cozy, romantic restaurant in the thick of the Times Square/Theater district. From beginning to end, service was outstanding, and our steaks were perfectly cooked and substantive for the price. It's a creative menu, though we stuck to grass-fed beef, and I would definitely return. The only slight disappointment was the dessert (we ordered the warm chocolate cake), but for all I know, the potent flavors of the chimmichuri sauce might have affected that. Plus, we went with the one chocolate choice, whereas nearly everything else contained dulce de leche and might have been better prepared.

This place was great! I definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice dining experience. The service was good. Not pushy and very timely. My fiance's steak was good. My sea bass was great! The chickpea dip with bread that they give to you when you order was dynamite. I recommend the fish of the day. For a side, the portobello mushrooms. The only downfall... the restaurant is small. Had a drunk guy that was LOUD. Saw a lot of business dinners going on here too.

Went to Chimichurri on the advice of my boss who raved about it. This place is amazing! Started off with grilled calamari- perfect, tender, delicious. I had the grilled monkfish special, which had a sauce that I'll just call delicious. It came with sort of a corn relish, which was serve chilled. It perfectly accented the fish. My husband had the signature Churrasco, a delicious tender steak with chimicurri sauce. Now, I don't eat beef but even I would order this dinner. We shared a side of the polenta with parmesan -also delicious. We didn't have the fries but my boss said they are a must have. We each had a glass of Alamos malbec which accompanied both of our dinners perfectly. The service, atmosphere and just everything about Chimichurri is wonderful. We highly recommend it.
