the food here is just not good. we sampled the fish tacos, oyster po boy, crab cake, mushrooms and brussel sprouts, etc. none were good. luckily we also ordered oysters which were delicious.

As members of the neighborhood, we greatly looked forward to dining at the new Choptank but were majorly disappointed. The space is done well and the garden room in the back is one of the only selling points. Our party split numerous appetizers including the shrimp tacos, ceviche and steamed clams. The plates were small and plain and lacked any serious flavor, except for the ceviche which was actually more of a sashimi. The salmon entree was fine but bland as well. On top of it all, our waitress was rude and fairly inattentive. Overall, the experience was poor, the restaurant not recommended and we will not be returning.

Was there a few nights ago with friends. The food was average. When we spotted a mouse sitting outside on the patio in front of our table and told our waitress she sort of listened and eventually sent a busboy out to shoo it away. When he (the mouse, not the busboy) returned just as our dinner plates arrived, we again mentioned this to our waitress. She saw it - how could she not since it just wandered back and forth for the entire meal - but she didn't say a word. No acknowledgment whatsoever that an uninvited guest had joined us for dinner. And he was there the entire time. We didn't get an apology, a "let me have it removed", not even feigned surprise or disgust. It was almost like she expected it to be there. While it is new york city and we've seen mice before, it's not the most appetizing site to see while eating dinner. We are clearly pretty low key since we didn't make a huge stink (that was done by the drain we were seated directly over) but it was kind of a bummer.

Ate there a few weeks ago and ordered the skate, at the server's recommendation. I was surprised to find that when it arrived it was oily and rubbery. Additionally, I could not believe how difficult it was to get service. Several times my party ordered a bottle of wine and we sat and waited 15 minutes before anyone came back to the table to let us know they were out of a given bottle. No one really checked on us, we always had to flag someone down. Overall, I had to say this but it was bad food and bad service, I wouldn't go back.

Went to choptank last night and was excited for a good meal, but was majorly disappointed. Ordered the mushroom app which was ok, but just tasted like something I could have made. My gf ordered the fried chicken, which I can honestly say was not even on par with KFC. It was just a bunch of fried skin, and was extremely greasy. She felt sick after eating it. I ordered the oyster po boy, and it was good. Aside from the food, I did like the beer/wine menu, and the service was excellent. Our waitress took the fried chicken off of our bill, so it made the experience a bit more pleasant. However, i will not be coming back to eat...would def go back to have a few drinks at the bar.

Before long, my lovely waitress served me some tantalizing Old Bay seasoned potato crisps, which were accompanied by a tangy smooth crab dip which was very rich in flavor and insanely tasty. The signature burger that I was to choose, featured a goliath 8oz blended patty, juicy and full of flavor slathered in rich creamy aged Wisconsin cheddar, pickled pepper mayo, fried onions and bacon-jam, all nestled on a perfectly toasted speckled sesame seed bun. I grabbed the burger like fisherman hauls a catch, trawling the sandwich into my mouth savoring the flavor as my eyes closed with content and delight. www.dmanburger.com

great seafood. went here for happy hr with some firiends on a friday at like 630. It was pretty empty but was soon jammed closer to 9pm. Great Date spot or Just meeting buddies. Crab Dip rips. Steer clear of the Sausage/Pretzel nibbler. not worth it. Great oyster selection. Friends loved the Tacos.

Wow. I went last night and braved the snowy weather(I admit I live around the block). The place was jammed considering the weather and I sat at the bar. Met the owner(Bobby) who recommended a few things. Had the Burger, which I am nominating for the best in the city, and the chips and dip are amazing(I think they sprinkle crack on the chips) and the Steamed Clams were also great. I had one of the craft beers for their $5 Snow Day Special. It was great as well. Ii must say this is a huge improvement over the place that was there last and I hope to become a regular before everyone finds out how great this place is. I'm a Spotted Pig regular and Choptank is going to be my close second.

went to choptank on a whim after looking up "seafood" in "west village" online. it was absolutely delicious and a great dinging experience. the outdoor garden in the back is extremely cute, and you can smell the spices coming off the boiler in the corner. the peel-and-eat shrimp took me back to my childhood growing up on the Gulf. we also had the oysters, one variety of about 6 different kinds they had -- good size and delicious. my party also had the crab cake, the salmon and the burger, and all were mouthwatering. the waitress even suggested a unique drink, not on the menu, that was like a bourbon mojito. i will definitely be going back and taking friends.

I went last Friday night with 3 friends. To boot the drinks were amazing! Have a Tom Benson when you sit down!! We decided to split a few dishes the fried chicken (which was fantastic) the crabcake (all real crab meat no fillers) and a burger which we loved so much we ordered a second!!! I will definitely be going back.
