This place used to be a decent neighborhood sushi place. It's descended to mediocrity.

I accidently stopped there with 3 of my friends cause one of them was his Birthday. I asked the "Manager" if she can join tables and she said NO we don't do that, so we ended up sitting some were we did not wanted ( and it was empty too). I tried to enjoy the food despite the situation. At the end I wanted to share two cupcakes which I bought for the birthday friend, We asked for a knife and the manager said NO you can't bring outside food. I explained and told her that it was his birthday and we just wanted to share this little cupcake, but she refused. In this economy when everyone is striving to maintain their customers and some places are closing , they should be much more accommodating than that. I don't think I was asking for difficult request? But I do know that I will NEVER go there ever again and I'll make sure to not recommend that place to NO one . BAD SERVICE!

The subject line basically says it all - this is a sushi place where the staff is on top of things, the prices are good, and the food is great - there's nothing fussy or fancy about it but if you like healthy Japanese food and you want to get out the door without taking out a second mortgage, this is your place.

We were looking for a sushi restaurant, where we could eat outside. We got to Choshi at 8 and it was so packed we sat inside. The service was good - wait-staff very friendly but the sushi was terrible. The rolls looked huge - but it was because there was about 1 pound of rice in each one. The "ginger dressing" looked like someone threw up on my salad and the sushi chefs weren't even Japanese. Don't waste your time.
