Old-School Slices - Thank God

Just had the two-slices-and-a-soda special on a freezing day, and it was not only delicious, it warmed me up. I love the old-school cheese the best: thin and crispy, it nearly breaks when you bite into it. Then the fresh flavor of the sauce kicks in and—enough of my yapping, go taste for yourself!

Great for a crisp slice and the best chicken parm in the LES. The Lasagna rivals the best in the city & every tuesday you can usually get 2 slices and a soda for under $5.

Great spot & always enjoyable! Ciao Bella Pizza offers innovative pizza offerings unlike your neighborhood pizza spot. Great selection of specialty pizza with a wide variety of toppings. My favorite pie in New York!

If you're in the L.E.S. doing your little shopping thing at Reed Space or what not and you're stomach is growling, make sure you stop by this spot on the other side of Allen. They got that proper NY slice. Try and grab the window seats to get that cool semi-subterranean view. Whenever I can't decide on what to eat, I always come back here. My man Levi will hook you up! Best pizza in the 'hood.

My new favorite L.E.S. slice

I stopped in here New Years day because all the other places were closed, and man am I glad. The owner Levi is a real stand-up guy (he even helped me find a restroom) and the food is proof. We ordered two pies and not only were they ready promply but they were bigger and cheaper than my former stand-bys. The cheese coats the entire slice and the sauce is phenomenal. If I were a food critic I'd have more to say but for now all I know is I can't wait to go back and try the lasagna and other things on the menu. Also they take credit card which is a plus for those of us who never have cash (gambling problem?)

Ciao Bella is what a real pizza joint should be. A perfect sauce and a perfect crust makes the perfect slice...and their slices are the best you will find anywhere in the area. Hands down.

While waiting for the bus I smelled an incredible scent of baking bread coming out of this little pizza place on Allen Street, which I must admit I've walked by many times and never noticed it. I walked in and thrown back by the scent of whatever was baking. Turns out it was their "famous baked empanadas." I chowded down one beef and one chicken. I can't say which one was better, but they were both uber good. Will be back for the slice.

I have been to Ciao Bella a number of times already and have yet to be dissatisfied.. The pizza is thin crusted with the perfect proportion of sauce and cheese always served fresh... They offer a variety of toppings including hawaiian style and my favorite with bacon. I brought my friend there a month ago and she has been back three times already. Highly recommend.

I can't think of a cozier pizza joint than this off-the-beaten-path delight of a slice on the LES. It's located just below the melee of 1st & 1st and offers a slice that's a meal to be shared. I had their pesto one day, hand-delivered to me on a spoon by the owner, and it was cherishable. The Hawaiian slice is funkadelicious. Which is something worth mentioning. This ain't your typical greasy Italian pizzeria. The decor begets a crunchy-granola suite and so does the music. So while you can go for the straight up slice, you can also get funky, or you will be funkafied. Good stop on your way up or downtown, with your significant other. Enjoy.
