This restaurant has a pest problem. I live on the same block as Ciao For Now, my neighbor swears she gets sick from the food there. from the 2 roaches we witnessed in different areas of the restaurant, its an example of why. My boyfriend said the bathroom had a film of slime on the floor and walls, and after seeing a live roach in there I didn't go use it. I did see the 2nd roach that was about to crawl up the table next to us, but we left before we could see if anyone cared to kill it or communicate to a manager. The waitress seemed as thought she wasn't worried........ The last chef that was fired from here, told us they lie about using organic and free range meats. I believe it. I do know of some of the menu items, because we have had delivery in the past. we were hoping the food would taste better in person-too bad we will never go back! yuk!

The restaurants I have eaten at throughout my life are MANY! This has to be one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at. I had the spinach, mushroom, artichoke, egg white omelet and the steel cut oatmeal! It was AMAZING. Then my friends and I took home quite a few of their baked goodies. Each one was to die for. Since I have gotten older, my stomach has become very senstive & most restaurants I cannot eat at without getting sick. This is the first one in a long time that I felt great after eating their delicious food. I need them to deliver to Texas!!!! Thanks.... Ciao for Now.

Been to the east side location a few times, been to the west side location at 10th and Greenwich a bunch of times. Great baked stuff - muffins, scones, insanely good biscuits; great egg stuff - frittatas, egg wraps, quiche, etc. - great grilled cheese, really good coffee, a lot of it from organic/local/etc. ingredients. Highly recommended.

Amazing sandwiches, cooked foods and baked goods - high quality ingredients. The ice coffee is among the best I've ever tasted - served, like the yummy lemonades, in compostable cups. Love the cozy neighborhood atmosphere at their E 12th St location (it's 523 E 12th St). They also have a take-out place on E 10th St. just west of 6th Ave. One of the reasons this is a great City.

Adam Platt picks 2013’s top dining destinations,
including Blanca, Mission Chinese Food, and Perla.
The best that the city’s restaurants have to offer:
bar food, dumplings, soft serve, tongue, and more.
We live in a city full of small cheap-eats miracles,
including pork buns, Asian hipster grub, and pizza.
