Nothing Special

A very attentive host, and server. We ordered the pork sausage and stracciatella pies. A very delicious crust, but else nothing super special. The edges were slightly charred, which wasn't so nice. The stracciatella was sparse with cheese, heavy on pink sauce, and a big heap of plain to droopy arugula on top. Not super flavorful. The pork sausage was quite spicy, pretty dry, lots of mushrooms. Our server raved about it, but I found it nothing to write home about. Maybe we should have ordered the popular meatball pie? Not sure what all the hype is about. Not very eager to rush back.

Never Again

My girlfriend and I were expecting a great meal although was was served food that was everything short of satisfaction. We ordered the Eggplant Toast which was burnt and tasted stale and the Meatball Pizza (which we had read some many positive reviews about) was soggy and had a fowl taste. We had a very disappointing experience and a hefty bill to pay. I will be taking my money elsewhere and am truly upset that what was supposed to be a fairly decent reviewed restaurant was so terrible.

Terrible Service, Decent Food

Have been going to Co. for years, consider it to one of my neighborhood favorites, but on a most recent visit found the service to be down right awful. Our server was rude, inattentive and clearly did not care about our dining experience. Food was decent but not what it used to be.

Nasty Hostess

Pizza is great but the hostess is nasty and condescending (like the caricatures of a stuck-up hostess on Sex and the City).

Early Reviews are bogus

Either this place got its act together late, which is possible, or the early reviews were from competitors disguised as readers. This place is a 10 all around. And uh pigiron, when you said on 4/8/2009 that they would be out of business in three months, did you mean they would still be packed every night almost 2 years later? I went for the first time last week with friends and literally went back the next night with my wife. Can't say "best" pizza in NY because there are so many classics that are great but this is for my money the most original and certainly delicious.

Bland and overpriced

My boyfriend and I asked the waiter how big the pies are and he very sternly said these are *individual* pies as in "I don't want you to share." While most places with individual pies tend to make them sound less sharable than they really are, this turned out to be a flat out lie at Co. We got two huge pizzas. The pizza itself was just OK. By the end of the meal it felt like I ate a lot of good bread. I was full, but not with a lot of flavors (and we started with a red cabbage / mushroom salad doused with balsamic vinegar). The ingredients were sparse and needed some salt (and this is coming from someone who loves bread and never adds extra salt to his food). Service was quick, but felt like a chain restaurant in Times Square with the servers eager for their 20% tips on overpriced food.

Get the Stracciatella!

I don't know how they do it, but every time I go there the Stracciatella gets better. They have some great pies that they have all the time and constantly rotate in creative specials. The drink menu is a bit lacking and the family seating may come as a surprise if you're not expecting it, but overall a great addition to Chelsea. I've been here many times and plan to keep coming back. I have yet to try something I didn't like, let alone LOVE!

Having been to Di Fara, Keste and Motorino this is my #1 pizza in NYC, light flavorful but charred crusts, with the right chew, perfectly balanced between the sauce and the unique combination of toppings.

Co. is by no means the best pizza in Manhattan today. i was born and raised in italy and believe me, the quality of Co. pizza is above average even by italian standards: the ingredients used are very fresh, the menu is incredibly interesting, for example the Stracciatella with very fresh stracciatella (a derivative of buffalo mozzarella only freshly available in some regions in the South of Italy), Popey with truffle and fresh spinach, Boscaiola...we tried seven different and they were all amazing. who doesnt like the pizza here is because got his/her palate ruined by fake pizza over the years! beside the food which is an A+, the place is loud, not children friendly and the waiting list is always too long. but its worth the wait!

Not your classic NY pizza

The moment you bite into the pie, you'll notice that it's not your classic NY pizza. The crunchy yet chewy crust is enhanced with just enough amount of creative flavorful toppings. If you are looking for a crust with good backbone, your search is over. A great place to go with 4 or more people and try all pies on the menu.
