Let the scene-sters wait on line for overpriced average pizza

Ok to good, but not nearly worth the hype. We got a Margherita pizza and the Popeye. The sauce on the marg was very good but there was not nearly enough of it (and not enough cheese either). The Popeye was very disappointing. It supposedly has 2 kinds of cheese plus garlic and pepper, in addition to spinach. There was a lot of spinach, which overwhelmed any other flavors, so I took off the spinach and what was underneath tasted just vaguely salty. They charge for bread, which I have no problem with. They also charge for olive oil, which is a stretch but I can live with. But they also charge for BUTTER ($2), which is insane and I'm pretty sure is the first time I've seen anywhere in the developed world. They said, "It's from Vermont." Hey, Vermont ain't that far away -- Land-o-lakes probably comes from Brazil. The service was fine, but I think their bartender is overwhelmed. It was crowded and I'm sure it will stay that way for a long time.

Pizza is outstanding (if it's available); service needs serious work

Two visits: one great, one disappointing (and very brief). First: Three of us enjoyed three fantastic pies and a variety of antipasti on Co.'s second night open. The pizza was outstanding (and a great value). From the friendly hostess to our informed and attentive server, Co.'s service was excellent that night, too. Only disappointment: *many* items were sold out, including half of their red wines. Second: Two of us stopped by a week later (1/10) at 9:30, prepared to wait given the intense buzz. We were not prepared for a startlingly rude hostess duo who first told us that the wait would be 45 mins, revised that to 60 mins, and then reported that "the kitchen has run out of food. “You can wait if you want, but we won't have any food by the time you’re seated." Final words of advice: "you’re better off leaving now because we're totally slammed." Totally unprofessional, too. I’m hoping that Co. will be able to step up the service and kitchen operations, as the pizza is fantastic and could easily become a weekly habit for loyal neighbors (myself included).

Pizza is great but the hostess is nasty and condescending (like the caricatures of a stuck-up hostess on Sex and the City).

Waiter: "Would you like some bread to start?" - Me: "Sure" - Waiter: "Would you like butter or olive oil?" - Me: "Butter will be fine, thanks" Check arrives, I am charged $3 for bread and $2 FOR BUTTER. When questioned, the waited informed me that butter is a menu item. I can almost understand the charge for bread, since its got that whole Sullivan Street bakery pedigree, but has anyone ever seen a charge for butter, especially when they are charging for bread??? Even worse, I am absolutely certain that my waiter deliberately tried to deceive me into ordering something I would never imagine I would be charged for. So congratulations, Comapany. You tricked me out of $2. You win! I will now go spend my money elsewhere. When you close down in 3 months, dont cry about the economy. Its games like ths that turn people AWAY from your doors.

I truly don't understand what all the hype is about. Absolutely tasteless food. Pathetic. I live in the neighborhood and will never go back.

Last night, we watched the waiter tell the two diners (who had waited for 40 minutes for a table and who had ordered 20 minutes prior to this) that the restaurant was out of pizza dough. It was not even 10PM. The manager (who was a horrible man) refused to even come to the table to talk with the diners, and when he did show up he refused to cover even the cost of the drinks. The couple was irate (and rightly so) and one of the diners used the f-word at which point the manager kicked them out of the restaurant. We were still discussing the horrible treatment the couple had received when NOT TEN MINUTES LATER, the hostess sat another group of 3 diners at the SAME TABLE. We waited for the waiter to come over and apologize for a lack of dough, but instead they brought them FOUR PIZZAS! SO, it appears that you have to be SOMEONE in this town to get decent service (and even PIZZA) at this restaurant. The pizza was fine, but nothing amazing. Definitely not worth a 45 minute wait. And definitely not if you need ANY customer service!

Have been going to Co. for years, consider it to one of my neighborhood favorites, but on a most recent visit found the service to be down right awful. Our server was rude, inattentive and clearly did not care about our dining experience. Food was decent but not what it used to be.

Walking into Co. I was looking forward to a great meal. However, I left disappointed and robbed of $80! The pizza did not live up to the hype. Out of our three choices, one was at best average and the other two were failures. One of our guest ordered a basic Margherita pizza. It arrived, with a single spec of cheese. Yes times are tough but to send out a pizza, without any cheese is unacceptable. Then when we asked for some grated cheese, we were charged an additional $3 for a tablespoon. Stay home!

It started with an incredibly rude hostess. However, when we were told that there would be a 45 minute wait... we decided to suck-it-up and hover in the undersize vestibule of a bar area. After angling toward the bar through the maze of irritated would-be patrons, we were unable to get the attention of the bar staff for a solid 20 minutes or so. When we did - they were out of all but one wine - which turned out to be overpriced and metallic. A further 40 minutes or so later, we had scored bar seats and so decided to simply to ignore being ignored by madame gatekeeper, and eat at the drafty bar. We found the staff apathetic, undertrained, and confused, but awaited the much-lauded pizza with great anticipation... Mistake. Our selection of 3 different pies were unimpressive, (one was truly burnt), and other than the char, were vague and tasteless. You've had better pizza and dining experiences a 100 times before. There is no need to subject yourself to Co. Shame.

Worst Pizza in New York

In a city known for its pizza, this is perhaps the worst pizza in New York. It reminded me of what I put up with when I was in college because it was cheap. The crust was burnt; the flavor almost nonexistent; and the texture unfamiliar. The place is definitely inexpensive, and the decor is pleasant. But cheap prices do not equate to value when the quality is so poor. Too bad, as there are so few good restaurants in this area.
