Delish! LOVE this place. I only discovered it about a year or so ago but it is now my favorite restaurant in NYC. The Brazilian stew(moqueca) is out of this world amazing, the feijoada on sundays is SOOO so good, the brazilian steak sandwich, and pao the queijo appetizer...whoa! I could go on forever. A caipirinha with my meal always hits the spot. It's like a taste of Brazil right here in the city. Very authentic. Really, give it a try. You're in for a real treat!!!

My boyfriend and I sat down after a few minute wait. We were not approached for at least half an hour, and even then it was because we asked to speak with our waitress twice. She came over and she was completely rude, when the food came the order was completely wrong. The waitress did not come over and ask if we needed anything. Food was not worth the cost, portions were small and dishes that were supposed to be hot were cold. Will not be a frequent customer... Stay away.
Worst Waitress I've Ever Had
By audreyNYC on 4/15/2012
My friend and I came here after a day of shopping and going to the spa. So we were in a fairly good mood. The hostess mumbled for us to follow her. Our waitress 'Jessie' was not even dressed like one. Not that that's super important but it just added to her whole "I don't give a f*ck" attitude. All this girl had to do was take our order, bring drinks, and our check. She barely spoke, I had to ask for silverware because there was only one set on the table. My friend wanted to know if they had something on the menu and after the waitress went and asked someone she said (as she walked by without stopping) "Yeah we don't have that anymore." She didn't ask if we were ready to order or anything. After our food came she never asked how it was. I mean this girl could care less, and had no personality. She also did not tell us mimosa's were $11, which I found a bit pricey for OJ and cheap champagne. Anyway, I didn't leave her a tip, which I have NEVER done in my life. I was a waitress and a hostess before and I've lived in the city before and I've never seen such behavior. She got 10% and that's only because my friend left her a tip. I would go back to the lounge because I have been there before and it was nice. However, I would not return here for food.
I Love this Place!

This was my second time going to the Coffee Shop since 3 years ago. The place is very mellow and I thought it was a cool spot to go on a first date, which my "date" loved and said he would go back again. I had the delicious Grilled Chicken Quesadilla with a lovely Mojito drink...hmmmm yummy is all I can say! Overall, we enjoyed ourselves, the food, and the people. By the way...the service was excellent, we were seated immediately at the bar (our choice) and our bartender was pleasant. Not to mention, our food were served to us in literally 10-15 mins. I can't wait to go back!
fun menu, mediocre food, lovely server

I was excited about this menu as I am Brazilian and there's a lot of Brazilian stuff there. Unfortunately the food was pretty bland and far from satisfying. Ceviche was decent, but the Moqueca Stew wasn't as spicy as it should be - not just in terms of being hot, it's just that it's supposed to be succulent, bursting with flavor, and in some cases on the spicy side. This one was simply bland, I suspect some key ingredients just weren't in there. Same goes for the Shrimp Baiano, not just flavor but also the shrimp was overcooked (too stiff and chewy). For regular diner prices would have been semi-decent, but for $100 dinner for two (2 drinks, an appetizer, and two entrees, + 18% tip), it was kind of a stab and left us both bitter and disappointed. At least the service was fast and efficient and I saw one of the prettiest servers I've yet to see in Manhattan, might go back then to try something different on the menu ;-)
