GREAT PLACE, Food is Good and Affordable!!!
By kintaro on 9/23/2013
I've never had a bad experience in this restaurant, sit in, take out, or even delivery. I live in Flushing and this has always been the place to go for me. I am very surprised to see all the bad reviews about this place but I HIGHLY recommend it to others if they want to experience good quality, Chinese food at a very affordable price. Only annoyance I have is their customer service over the phone. It's so difficult placing an order; almost every time but for the food, it's well worth it.
Terrible Food and Service!!
By GreedyCat on 9/2/2012
Their food and service so terrible!! I ordered a bowl of "XO sauce noodle soup" , and found out hair in there. I talked to the manager, he never said sorry to me and so rude to asked me that "what do you want!?", I was sick on that day and I really wanted to give them a chance so requested to change the other bowl of beef congee. Then he took out the disgust hair from the soup and put on my table! What's that mean? hey, that's not my hair and I'm not that rude person to doing cheating!! I asked the waiter that he said the rude guy is only one the manager there and boss is not always show up. That's so bad that I saw him gave all the customers his attitude, totally nothing good for the business if the owner didn't understand how important of food and service quality. Big won't recommand people to try in this place!
If you like roaches and mice with your fried rice...
By mikec123 on 11/9/2010
Last time I went here, I saw roaches on the floor and mice scurrying around the kitchen and back by the bathrooms. After seeing this, my group and I felt sick and left. It was the last time I'll ever go there. Rude waitstaff. Many other options to go to, my fave is Pho Bang, for quick bites and drinks - Sago. Just avoid. There's no surprise this place got just one star.
DO NOT GO HERE!
By alternakiddy on 7/10/2010
We went up the restaurant on the second floor, since we wanted to dine in. The menu is difficult to discern, it's like everything is just thrown together. This place is not for the faint of heart, if so your options are General Tsao's Chicken or Chicken with Chestnuts, literally (which does not come with rice!!!) We ordered, regretted we did, were told they have a credit card minimum (which is illegal, by the way), and then they made us give them a tip. We weren't able to leave without having to shove someone unless we left a tip. The service was horrible (I worked in food service for a time and will always tip nicely unless the service was really bad), we didn't like the food and then they want a tip??? I hope this place tanks. With as dense an area for food as Flushing, Corner 28 should disappear.
Deception on promotional price
By Food_Maniac on 5/31/2009
I ordered from the $2.50 promotional menu of wonton noodles & shrimp dumplin ($2.50 each). I received the billed before the food came and notice the price of wonton noodles was charged on regular price of four dollar something. I examined the promotional menu and found the only restriction was 11:00 am to about 3:00pm (I forgot the ending time but I was there before 1pm). I enquired the waitress about the price and she said the promotion was only valid from Monday to Friday. I said that menu did not indicate that and I had it before on other weekend and they should honored the $2.50 price. She said she couldn't and it was the company policy. I told her it was deception and I left. I hoped there was a way that I can change these practices.
