Not from the makers of Kraft!

My first visit to Craft left me utterly spellbound. It's as if owner/Chef Tom Colicchio cast his magic wand over me from the moment I stepped into this charming, rustic Grammercy gem. First, I started with the tuna carpaccio, a small, and delicate portion of the best tuna that's ever touched my lips. Tom's melt-in-your-mouth creation will leave you anxiously waiting for your next course. For my main course, I dived right into the roasted scallops, paired with a few must-have sides such as: sweet potato hash, butternut squash, polenta, and roasted shiitake mushrooms. Each bite of my awe-inspiring meal left me mesmorized and had me question, "how does this wizard of a Chef transform a simple scallop into a mind-altering food creation?" I am left with only one answer: witchcraft! If you've never been to Craft, what are you waiting for. Okay, so you'll have to make a reservation a month in advance. But trust me fellow food snobs--it's well worth the wait.

Every bite is well worth it. Service was fine. tables a lil large ? but who cares you just want to go back and try the things you didnt have before. mmmmmmmm

Not much to add to the praise already heaped on this excellent restaurant -- just wanted to recreate my last meal, as a guide to the undecided: Braised Short Ribs Roasted Carrots Braised Leeks Gratin Potato Arugula Salad Scallops Roasted Hedgehog Mushrooms Doughnuts Pain Perdue, w/ Caramel Sauce. I GL Grenache, 1 GL Cab. Franc. Eat this meal, and dance all the way home.
A cliché, but I loved it!

It may be a cliché, but Craft provides a top New York dining experience. The food is relentlessly delicious on all fronts. My meal followed a perfect arc: crisp salad, rich comfort food side dishes (try the potatoes au gratin and prepare to smile), perfectly seasoned fish, lovely wine, and a wonderful dessert (DO try the homemade ice creams). The lighting was warm, my waiter was cute and friendly, my meal was long and fulfilling...in short the perfect dining experience. Of course the catch of communally ordering food in sections may strike some as gimmicky, and the difficultly of getting a reservation is frustrating, both drawbacks pale in comparison to the excellent food and service.

I can't not say enough good things about Craft. A truly exceptional dining experience! From the great martinis,roasted foie gras,Kobe skirt steak, the chestnut risotto was amazing! as well as the polenta. And the desserts well all I can say is try to leave room or come back just for those. Can't wait to go back! Bravo!!!

I was taken here for my birthday. From the moment we walked in and greeted by the hostess, I knew this was going to be something special. We started with an assortment of oysters. Then, I got carpaccio, which was amazing. My main course was Australian Blue Prawns, and an assortment of mushrooms, polenta, and risotto, as side dishes. Everything was spot-on, the service was friendly and attentive, plus the desserts were just plain delicious. I've been to quite a few upscale restaurants in NYC, and I have to say that this is my all time favorite.
A simply unforgettable night at Craft

I went to Craft on Tuesday (incidentally the same night their new NY Times review came out) as part of a NY Supper Club event (www.tnysc.com). We experienced their tasting menu and it was just 3 hours of true eating pleasure. The first course was a specially made lobster dish made exclusively for our group and it was unbelievably tender and delicious with preserved lemon and fennel. The rest of the menu was incredible as well. The farm egg, which was slow poached, came with soppressata and sweetbreads and was incredibly tasty with the contrast of the soft egg and crispy meat. I wasn't surprised that The Times gave Craft 3 stars because the experience was absolutely top notch...perhaps they've raised their game again. Lastly, it made the night go over the top when we noticed Tom Colicchio hanging out at the bar and he was kind enough to sign a few menus and shake a few hands.
