Arrived 5 minutes before our 8pm reservation for 4. Waited 35 minutes to be seated with the Maitre d' repeatedly asking us to stay out of the way, although there was no place to move to - other than back out onto the street, where we should have headed. Seated at 8:30, (delicious) food arrived at 9, and were asked to leave at 10 - needed the table for someone with a reservation! Felt ripped off and angry - hard to the food with such poor treatment. Go elsewhere.

My friend and I went here this evening for Cinco de Mayo. We waited 45 minutes for a table (no problem as it's 2 hours everywhere else and we didn't make reservations). Once we sat down we waited and waited. I had to get up and ask a bus boy to clear the table from the people before us. My friend got up and got us menus. Then the bus boy told me to order with the maitre'd. He said that was incorrect and would send someone over. We finally got fed up with waiting we walked over to the bar to order. We waited about 25-30 mins for all of this. My food came out in 10 mins and my friends food came out 30 mins AFTER that. Holy cow. I spoke with the GM/Maitre'd and he was defensive and said we didn't have reservations and they were busy and asked 'well, what do you want me to do about it?'. We were so patient at a restaurant that wasn't nearly as busy as any other Mexican Restaurant and the GM was bordering on yelling at us. Don't go here- ever.

Really, the food was amazing. We went for brunch with family who were in from out of town. At first, there was nothing about the restaurant to make it seem anything special - the bar was beautiful, the decor nice, not over the top nor too pretentious. Comfortable. The service was prompt and responsive to us. At the beginning I wouldn't have thought too much of it, that is until the plates came out. Then - wow. The presentation was fantastic, the interpretation of items such as a molé burrito was beautiful, and the taste was just amazing. It was without a doubt one of the best Mexican meals we've ever eaten. The food was so good, I started to believe the casual dining experience was out of sync with such cuisine. Amazing.

Our waiter was patient, knowledgeable, and helpful in getting us served promptly and efficiently, when we explained that we had an 8:00 pm concert to attend. The drinks were large and delicious, although to my taste the bartender had a light hand with the liquor. Given the volume (and given the price), I expected a more generous shot of tequila in those tall margaritas. The mushroom soup was rich, creamy, and had a serious kick to it. A ceviche made with minced shrimp was nice and tangy. Entrees were cooked to perfection, brilliantly seasoned, and beautifully presented. This is Mexican food taken to another level entirely. The only off note is that the space is small, and the tables are accordingly small and crowded together. Food like this deserves a more sumptuous environment.

I used a discounted offer I had for dining at Crema and thought I was treated unfairly because of it, but it seems like the poor service is the norm here! I was seated all the way in the back where is was extremely hot and where I couldn't enjoy the great music that was played. Rude waiter, mad at the world. The food is fantastic, had the steak tacos and Fish empanadas!

We loved the food at Crema, but the experience was almost spoiled by our very surly server. Perhaps he was annoyed about working Restaurant Week, but he didn't seem to know anything about the menu, was (seemingly) intentionally unhelpful, and not at all friendly. I'll still go back, though - the food and drinks were delicious.

The food is made with such care! Every portion is absolutely delicious and beautiful. Mexican is my favorite from San Fransisco to Santa Fe to Sunnyside Queens, and this is THE BEST Mexican food anywhere.
