Some of the best Italian in New York city and top notch in east village in my opinion. Authentic cuisine and fantastic atmosphere. Very friendly service, though sometimes it can get pretty busy...if you are OK with that, you will have a fantastic experience. Highly recommended! Home made pasta is a must.

Had dinner there last night and it was busy... a bit noisy in the main dining room if you are looking for a quiet table this may not be your first choice. The decor was warm and inviting. The wait staff was quick and friendly. I would say that the Calamari was generic at best but was at least warm and crispy. I had the black linguine which I would recommend, but the stuffed fish my fiance ordered was the real deal. Prices are amazing here for the quality and ambiance provided.

I was invited to my friend's birthday party Tuesday. Cucina was big welcome from outdoor, definitely service was excellent. They already know how to make people pleased...very friendly and attentive...After seating on chair, we ordered many dishes and wine. The gnocchi was the best I ever have had and pumpkin ravioli was excellent...I had and drank too much but I can remember impressed food. Finally...if you go there, you will be surprised at the price. very cheap with good dishes. Frankly speaking, I was charmed this point. It's impossible to have a dinner in any Italian restaurant with this price. I love cucina and will be back.

Yesterday night, I and my friends came to cucina and had dinner. We experienced we had delicious dinner in romantic Italian restaurant with cheap price. Most of all, the service was excellent. And we already knew cucina was on event, so mentioned the code. 20% off gave us another fun. Most of all, it's hard to find great Italian restaurant with this price in NYC.

I normally don't write reviews, but I feel that I know Italian food well enough and was so thoroughly underwhelmed that I had to write something. My fiance and I both order fish... me the monkfish and him the branzino. My fish looked like fish nuggets (i.e. visually unappetizing) and was tough. Having worked in a seafood restaurant, I know how monkfish should look and be cooked, and this was not it. The accompanying sauce was good though but only because it was a lobster cream. The branzino had a very fishy smell, and the side of pasta was overcooked (hard to do that in an Italian restaurant!). The service was good and our waiter was very pleasant. Overall, I would definitely not go back.

WOW - this place is awesome to have a dinner party! I planned my friend's bachelorette party dinner here for 14 girl and we loved it. We had a large table set us in the back and the waitstaff and management were attentive and provided great service for the whole night. The pre-fixe menu we decided beforehand along with the 2 hours unlimited wine/beer price made it a no-frills and easy night for all. The food was delicious, a great value and awesome portions. I couldn't have asked for anything more! THANK YOU.

I had the best gnocchi of my life here, and the rest of the extensive homemade pasta list is all equally delicious. The prices are incredibly reasonable and the atmosphere is very warm and friendly. I've been to this place twice, both on friday nights, and haven't found it to be too crowded at all. An excellent go-to italian restaurant!

Went here after seeing the positive review on this very site. The decor is fun, dark, and interesting, the other patrons a bit loud but mostly nice to be in the same room as, the service was fine, and the food excellent. I had the soft-shell crab special (covered with shitake mushrooms and a wonderful lemon sauce). It was magnificent. My friends had the vegetarian lasagna and also the black linguine (with shrimp). Both raved. Lots of good bread provided, and the wine list has nice, cheap offerings. Wonderful to know about and overall a better-than-average experience.
