The food was very good and the service had class, but was a bit expeditive. The wine card was superbe with a great selection of Italian wine for every budget. Got a great meal for the money we spent, and we got free dessert (don't know why, but it was excellent). For a real and tasty Italian meal, Da Nico is a very good place.

The old world resturant food and mentality still exists. True class, real service (unlike the rest of the city), and value that surpasses all other italian in town. Bang for the buck, reasonable wine menu, more than fair prices even on the premier choices. I am from Denver Colorado and travel to NYC for vacations and tell everyone that Da Nico is the best resturant in the country.

When you walk down Mulberry Street, there are Italian guys everywhere showing you their menu, trying to get you inside their restaurant. Da Nico isn't like that, for better or worse. Yes, most of the staff does seem "bothered." If you can ignore that, then Da Nico is great. I personally prefer when waiters don't hover over me, asking every two minutes if everything is good. I know that I will like what I order at Da Nico because I've been there before. I would definitely recommend going there during lunch instead of dinner. It is much cheaper, the staff is friendlier, and you get a free salad in addition to your meal, along with bread and zeppole. Sometimes they'll forget to give you zeppole though, so if they don't bring it out after the bill make sure to ask! The lunch menu has a bigger selection as well. The back patio is a nice escape from the city. Warning: If you go during the San Gennaro festival, the lunch menu is cut way down and they don't even serve pizza that week!

My husband and I recently ate at Da Nico's since it was Guiliani's favorite place--and we just moved to NYC. Figured it would be fun...not quite true. Though the atmosphere is pleasing and food was outstanding, the waiters seemed "bothered" and "put out" -- very inattentive. I would not eat here again, it was not the Little Italy experience we were looking forward to for our first time. Oh well, plenty of other places to choose from--we'll find one that delivers the whole package.
