There comes a point where the price of the food far out weights the incremental value of the food. This is the place. The food, service, and decor are wonderful. Some of the best anywhere, but its just too expensive. Sure it an experience but not for that price.

Someone took me there on a special occasion several months ago and I was very happy with the food and service. Food was very tasty, and the waiters as well as the manager were very helpful and attentive. I liked this restaurant for the experience-an experience I haven't felt anywhere else.

My wife and I celebrated our first year anniversary on Friday night and we thorougly enjoyed the entire dining experience. You don't have to be a 60 something, blue blood to enjoy this ultimate culinary experience. The staff was extremely friendly from beginning to end. We were taken to a corner cabana and treated like royalty! You can have a full out conversation without others listening to you. I highly recommend the 6 course tasting menu. They accomodate vegetarians too. My wife had the 6 course vegetarian tasting menu. You need to check out the Bordeauxs! Speak to the Sommelier, she is very helpful. Watchout for the Baker. He comes around with a delicious assortment of breads. Dessert melts in your mouth - Blood Orange! Is it pricey? Yes. Is it over the top? No. Is it memorable? Yes, and we are going back.

While Daniel Boulud is undoubtedly spread very thin with multiple restaurants, books, television, etc., he maintains a close watch on his main restaurant - Daniel. Every aspect of Daniel is refined, organized and near perfection. And while one expects, perhaps fears, that snobbery and haughty attitude come with such high class restaurant, nothing could be further from the reality of Daniel. From your encounter with the first person to the last, you the customer are king at Daniel. The main dinning room is an operatic stage of flowers and lighting for the dinning tables. Managers, waiters and bus boys glide through the room. Daniel makes an appearance and dinners do their earnest to catch his eye and be honored by his appearance table side. The classic to contemporary French cuisine displays the finest of ingredients, excellent sauces, and a knowledge of American/New York dinning preference. Everything is excellent - period. Yes the price for perfection and elegance and a bit of celebrity is high, which makes dinning at Daniel more frequently than annual birthdays, anniversary and receipt of Wall Street bonuses unlikely. But those annual visits are well worth the wait.

The food was fresh and delicious. It is creative and pleasing to the palate, and puts a twist on french cuisine that is rarely seen. The service was excellent, attentive, and had a great sense of humor. Our table was lovely. The decor, though extensive, was classy and tasteful.

After I got my hair done at Rodolfo Valentin, the best hairdresser in New York, I asked my husband to invite me for dinner at a restaurant matching the quality of my look. He said: Â“DanielÂ”, where else? . Wonderful meal, chic service and there are not enough words to describe such a great culinary experience.

I had the best dinner ever here. Not only was the food fantastic, the service was out of this world. We also got a tour of the kitchen! Really great time here, worth going and I dream of returning!

It's tough to step up and pretend like we are food critics when, in face, most of us our not. Being a chef at a well renowned restaurant, I applaud Daniel for preparing such amazing dishes! If I could give them more than 10 for food and service, I would! It's tough to drop so much cash for a meal and feel like it was money well spent, at Daniel, it was!

In my travels to New York from Australia, I was told about Daniel and managed to secure a booking for 1 - me. I arrived and they treated me fantastically and made sure I enjoyed the night and the food. After I'd ordered my courses and wine from a very polite & knowledgeable sommelier I received a pre- starter of 3 little tastings on a beetroot theme. I then recieved a melon soup was simply delicious and then came my trio of mackerel - small tastes for an appetiser and again the tastes & flavours were awesome. I selected the fish special for the night at the waiter susggestion and the combinations and the taste were just out of this world. Finaly I ordered for desert a vecherin which was done in two levels - strawberry & blueberry with amazing thin wafers of sponge and these little honeycomb straws. Then then suprised me by bringing another little chocolate desert and if I wasnt done then came the petit fors - no wonder this is one of the world's top ten restuarants. By the way, the service was outstanding - warm, genuine and not pushy ...they were brilliant. All I can say is thank for the experience.
