my first experience at diner was great. the staff was intimidating at first but soon i relaxed and enjoyed everything. the wait staff and bartenders are awesome, the serving sizes are huge, the setting feels like a different world. everytime i go there i fall more in love with it!

tad pricy, but that's Williamsburg, I suppose. Anyway, DINER is pretty damn good. They do a mean cheeseburger, and a good deal of vegetarian fare - the pork pannini is excellent too. There's something odd about the waiting staff - they seem stoned or something (just my opinion - I didn't witness anything)!

overpriced, bland, small portioned banality...

once a mainstay, this restaurant has fallen into a boring slump serving bland uninspired minature dishes with a complete absence of both sides as well as flavor. An extremely "petite" portion of halibut on the specials menu goes for $24, with no sides, floating in a tastless plain broth. Not to mention the most pedestrian martini on the planet for $9. This place needs to lose the attitude and gain an identity to stay on the map...

Nice yet small place - small interior space - good food - nice feel to Diner.

I had the pork chop - delicious - with mashed potatoes - o soooooo good. Had the chocolate brownie for dessert - warm and rich - very good stuff. The place is a little pricey - the tables are a little small - as are the booths - they are 1 seater's. But overall an enjoyable experience - nice wide sidewalk and street in front - I walked there going down Berry from N8 and it was a very pleasant walk - took about 15 minutes (more if I had worn heels - but do-able). Price prevents me from going more often.

The food is wonderful, the meat is all grass-fed and well-raised and the ambiance is class 30's dining car upgraded to a sleek and comfy feel. Amazing sausage, desserts and drinks too. For photos, go to www.eatbrooklynfood.blogspot.com

The atmosphere is warm, the waiting staff is cool and the Presidente is served icecold. The burger is simply one of the best in NYC.

Best Burger in New York

I have lived in Brooklyn for nearly 4 years and have yet to meet a rival to Diner’s grass-fed burger. For me this is hands down my favorite spot to go for an evening alone with a book on a bar stool. There are few restaurants that I regularly miss from my days in Williamsburg, but this — alongside Egg, Roebling Tea Room and St. Helens — is one of them.

I've eaten brunch here before and had a great memory of the ambiance, food service, etc and so decided to come for dinner with my boyfriend and another couple. Everything started fine we put in our dinner order. While waiting for our food a COCKROACH the length of a watermelon falls from the ceiling hits me in the head and is crawling down my hair and shoulder and I SCREAM "oh my God! oh my God!!" until my boyfriend hits it off of meNeedless to say i was pretty shook up & told the bartender what happened. within minutes our server and the manager came over to apologize and put us at a table outside. I was still freaking out. Call me a wuss, but this thing was HUGE and crawling ALL over me. We sit outside and continue to wait for our burgers and the manager brings me a free $6 beer and Im thinking...there better be some serious comping on our bill. I've worked in the service industry for 5 years and if anything close to this had ever happened we would have comped the entire bill for the party. So we eat our 14 dollar burgers and we get our check and guess what?NOTHING was comped aside from the beer. NOTHING!They need to learn a thing or two about customer service. Had they been a little more gracious and at LEAST comped my dinner I would have been satisfied, would not have written this review, and probably would have returned. It's just unbelievable and infuriating that they think a free beer is compensation for a cockroach falling and crawling on me. I will not be returning.
