Just dined here tonight and was pleasantly surprised by the food. The servers kept replenishing our Diet Cokes and we were appalled to see that we were charged for each individual soda, $1.75 a piece, when we received our bill. There was not one mention about this, and the server rudely remarked, "Where do you get free refills?!" Hello sir, we're not sure where you're from, but EVERYWHERE. The server did not adjust our bill.

this is one of the few italian restaurants in manhattan that have a balance of great food with good prices. and on top of of that.. let's just say you will more than satisfied with the portions!

Pleasant Surprise - The best Grilled Chicken & Mesclun Salad I've had in awhile!

When one steps into a pizzeria, it's generally the rule that you stick to the house specialty. A friend had recommended Don Giovanni's in Chelsea for their well-known Thin Crust Pizza, but when I arrived, after perusing the lengthy menu, I decided to take a chance on a salad. I was not prepared for the perfect entree-sized Mesclun salad with generous amounts of grilled chicken and goat cheese! They served this with their homemade salad dressing that was absolutely perfect. I was surprised to see a gorgonzola salad as well, with many choices of veggies to add. The space itself was upbeat, with a fun vibe and a great outdoor patio. They offer wine, sangria, and beer at bargain prices, and desserts as well. It was casual enough to feel comfortable in jeans, along with a trendy, attractive staff that made it definitely more fun than sitting on the corner at your local pizza spot. I would definitely go back to Don Giovanni's, for a night with the girls or even a date. The lively vibe and outstanding food should make this place the next 'IT' spot, all without spending a fortune!

I normally never post restaurant reviews but after reading these other post i felt i had to. Don Giovannis has by far the best pizza ive found in manhattan and ive tried them all i.e. Johns, Patsys, grimaldis etc. etc. I lived in the neighborhood until about 2 years ago and frequently ate there. I still go back all the time even though its really out of my way. ITS THAT GOOD!! I had to speak up for my favorite pizza

gave this place on more chance and tried a delivery...1.5 hours for a delivery 3 blocks away. come on...are you guys serious. the pizza is still of the sub par variety. dough is thick a chewey. cheap cheese and sauce. in no way is this new york style. sorry guys, too many nice places to go to (pizza 33!) to waste time here ever again. i think 2 chances is enough.

i love pizza. i have eaten it all over the world twice over. please do not think this pizza represents NYC pizza bc it doesnt. bad tasting dough (hard,rough), cheap cheese (def store bought), completly average sauce. i recommend you try OTTO, Grimaldis, DiFaras. that is pizza. this place is the mcdonalds of pizza.
