Dining at Dovetail was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The space was simple, but inviting and comfortable. I was with four friends and we sampled a number of the offerings between us. The Brussel sprout salad is a great starter filled with great flavor. I tasted my friends sweetbreads and as a recent convert, I found them wonderful. For entrees I had the scallops which were delicious. My friends had duck and sea bass which they found amazing as well. My Cirtus dessert was not quite lemony enough for me, but you can't have everything. I can't wait to go back and try other things on the menu. It's great and even in my neighborhood. What could be better than that!

We went to Dovetail for a Sunday evening family dinner. The food was tremendous - - the chicken was a true treat and probably the most delicious of our entrees. The lamb was over-salty, but perfectly cooked and my mum enjoyed it. There were five of us at a rather large table, so I would recommend asking to squeeze into a four person space rather than sitting at a super large table for five. However, the round table we were seated at would be a great venue if you are planning on 8 or 10 for dinner. The only negatives were that we had to chase down the remaining 1/4 bottle of our prosecco, and the food can be a wee bit too salty. Overall, the five of us had lovely meals, the price is incredibly fair, the staff is attentive and jovial, and we all agreed that we would highly recommend this new UWS treasure.

I would go back in a NY minute. Just what the westside needed. It will only get better.

We recently celebrated our anniversary at Dovetail and had an amazing culinary experience. The amuse consisted of three extremely different and wonderful samplings. The cheddar cornbread was great. I began my meal with the soft shell crab followed by the red snapper. My husband began with the gnocchi, followed by the rack of lamb and lamb shank combo. We each tasted the others and both of us felt everything was prepared to perfection. The desserts were absolutely delicious, hats off to Vera Tong and her brioche bread pudding. We also had a warm dark chocolate dessert. We definately recommend Dovetail and will go back again. Extraordinary! Oh, don't miss the pink champagne, lite and smooth.

I have enjoyed Chef John Fraser's cuisine from the first time it touched my palate. Dovetail continues to amaze and impress and now that they are open for Brunch, I will be making more reservations to introduce new friends to Chef Fraser's delights.

I was so sad when my favorite restaurant in NYC closed last year, and so I've been looking for a replacement. This is it! The food here is utterly amazing, the decor is perfect (sleek, clean, yet cozy), the service is perfect (attentive, but not intrusive), and the entire experience was delightful. I love this place.

My girlfriend made a reservation for by birthday at Dovetail as we had been talking about going to the restaurant since moving into the neighborhood. We were excited about the chef's experience at French Laundry because we recently took a trip to Napa and heard great things. The tasting menu did not disappoint! The butternut squash soup was seriously amazing and every course was somehow better than the last. By the time we got to desert I was in a fine dining state of euphoria and they even served us an extra desert on the house for my birthday. The wine list was outstanding and the service was exquisite. This should be on every foodie's list as a destination restaurant. Come visit us in the UWS; it is definitely worth the trip!

I and my husband have gone to many other top rated restaurants in NYC. If Dovetail is not ranked one of the top rated restaurants in NYC, then it SHOULD be. The minute you step through the front door, you are greeted with a smile. Thereafter, the waitor/waitress will treat you with the utmost repect once you are seated at your table. The flavor of the two apetizers we ordered popped in our mouths. We expected the entres to be just as good, but they exceed our expectations. The "baby pig" and the "halibut" were cooked to perfection. I definitely recommend ordering the "baby pig." Lastly, the dessert. We ordered the "bitter chocolate souflet." The souflet was fluffy on the outside and warm and light in the inside. I will definitely reommend Dovetail to my friends, family, and the WORLD.
