A real piece of Italy

On Cipriani I am only going to say one thing : A real piece of Italy people save some money and go eat there because Real Italian style doesn't get any better then this

Uptown more so than the downtown post

The downtown location is nice in the summer after a day of shopping, but it is more chaotic than uptown ever was. Here is ok if you are willing to raise your voice to talk with your friends as it's rather loud. Still the same great quality of food.

Cipriani Upstairs - Cozy & sexy

The staircase looks like it leads to a rooftop but once youre inside that small and cozy room with a fireplace, you feel more like in an exclusive ski-resort lounge :-) Music is good and crowd fashionable. Efficient staff. Worth the hype!

Absolutely the WORST place in the City, If Angelina Jolie was at the table next to me, looking in my eyes, laughing at my jokes (a true test of love), maybe even flirting a bit, this STILL is the most incredibly atrocious place to eat or drink, maybe, just maybe in the entire world. I've had better food AND service in a roadside restaurant (hut) in the jungle outside of Bogota (Colombia not Jersey, however it is probably true there too). If the tourist trap restaurants that surround St Mark's Plaza in Venice(Italy not California) lowered their standards to match DC, the Dogue would cast them out of the Plaza. Mayor Mike, where are you when we need ? Please put a stop to the pilage and plundering these demons have wrought. Close 'em up and let the populace rejoice .

It's just the fun, not the food

You don't go to any Cip restaurant for the food, but for the fun. Drink a couple of Martinis at the bar before dinner, and you won't mind the food: that's not the point. By the way, the tuna tartare was not bad, although the sauce isn't the same of the Harry's.

A lot of people tend to rate resturants that they are are unhappy about over a great resturant. A lot of people miss the point of Cipriani. IT's not the place to take one's family, and a very casual dining experience is not intended. The established artists and very wealthy end up here, drinking bellini's with little else to do with their time, and they enjoy it just fine. The overall look of the resturant is very appealing. The European attitude is that you are privilidged to be eating their food, rather than they are lucky for your business, and so it is better to not pay attention to the busy waitors and complain if they do not smile and treat you like you are a patron of the church. It is more important to go to flaunt your money, try the pasta, enjoy the experience which is left more to you and your guests than a resturant like Cipriani's. For the type of people it caters to, it's just the place to go.

this is heaven! and if you are hungry just around the block are a few pet stores so go get yourself a can and open it up and dig right in, you'll have a better dining experience.

I brought my family here to spot celebs and by the time the meal was done my wife had left me for a garbageman and both the kids were throwing up everywhere. Luckily their vomit tasted better than the revolting pasta sauce. At least it was warm!!!

Food smells like sweat!

and it tastes like bland water squeezed from pajamas. The waiters had lots of greasy stains on their white jackets and that went well with the matching stains on the table clothes. The crowd was soo super cool that you needed to have mennen speed stick constantly applied to your head! Soooo many billionaires and rap stars and super models that I thought I was at a walmart parkin lot on a sunday mornin!
