Delicious
By cmt on 11/20/2011
The Dressler has been on my list for a while and I finally had the opportunity to go for dinner last Saturday evening. I had heard wonderful things, and the restaurant definitely lived up to its excellent reputation. The food was inventive and well-prepared - everything I had was delicious. The artichoke salad and pumpkin cheesecake dessert were both phenomenal, as were the special entrees. We went early (6-ish) so we beat the Saturday evening crowd. The atmosphere was cozy and quiet, and the service was attentive. I would definitely go back.

You kidding
By korniokos on 2/21/2011
Tables way packed, overpriced, too much butter that made my stomach hurt. This is not Michelin star food; It's pretentious trust-fund psters meet east-side douches heaven.

The Best
By JRich on 7/14/2010
Absolutely amazing - friendly, attentive, knowledgeable staff gave great recommendations. I went on a date and we chose to each do the wine paring menu - 5 courses, each paired with a wine. The waitress was able to describe each wine and how it would go with the food. I don't have anything even slightly negative to say about this place - I can't even choose my favorite dish. I definetly recommend doing the wine pairing so you really get to experience everything.

Nice room, good food, great drinks
By mirkone on 4/24/2010
My single visit to Dressler was a pleasant one. Attentive but laid-back service was a nice thing. Though I think that the design of the room and the Rye and Ginger cocktail were the highlights, the food was also rather good. Everything was very flavorful -- I especially enjoyed the roasted tomato tart and hazelnuts in the baby beet salad.

Incredible
By sarahf on 7/28/2009
We went here for a special occasion and couldn't have been happier. The food was amazing, so many flavors, really ambitious dishes. Even the cocktails are incredible. I was riding a high when we left.

My New Favorite Restaurant
By me_art on 3/22/2009
This is a really wonderful place. Went on a first date. Definitely a romantic place to dine. The pictures on their website are very realistic - they depict the place very well. My date and I both ordered fish and both dishes were wonderful - well presented, executed, delicious. I will be going back here for sure. Also had the chocolate souffle - excellent and recommended. The service was good (nothing to complain about), but everything else about this restaurant outshines the service. If you want to impress your date, you can't find a nicer place for it!

Really great place, terrific food, relaxed vibe
By MTD31NYC on 2/1/2009
I highly recommend this restaurant. On a cold January night, it felt good to step into the warm dining room with its glow and the buzz of conversation. The service was good (one nit pick: they forgot to come by our table with bread) starting with the friendly greeting at the door from the host & hostess to the hearty "What'll you have?" from the barman--the staff was as welcoming as any I've experienced in NYC. Artichoke salad was AWESOME (I think it was flash fried) and the char was tasty and well prepared with delicious vegetables on the plate (brussel sprouts? carrrots?). We shared an appetizer of oysters, which were fresh and briny. Dessert was good too. All for $70 per person with tip and wine, not including the drinks we had at the bar ahead of time. I love the feel of the place, the tables, the mosaic tiles, the intricate stenciled designs on the walls. Fresh and hip without putting you off. The attitude is very relaxed among the patrons, a mostly 30 something & 40 something crowd.

A Taste That I Cannot Forget
By mky84 on 1/17/2009
It's been about one month since I visited Dressler, and I still think about the delicious food I had there. I had read about the Michelin Star, so my expectations were high. I was pleasantly surprised that this restaurant has an incredibly relaxed vibe to it, unlike many other highly rated restaurants. I had the seared scallop appetizer, which was done extremely nicely, the hanger steak and short rib, which was great and comforting, and I also tasted my fiancee's braised pork shank, which is a unique flavor that is the best of savory American food, yet paired with the slightly sweet and sour cabbage to balance it out. We had the pumpkin bread pudding for dessert which also was a nice symphony of textures and flavors. The waiter even threw in a lovely dessert wine for free. I loved this restaurant, and I'll be sure to try it again sometime.
