Elegant, exciting dishes, served attitude free (in williamsburg!)

the refined interior is an excellent match to the menu which is an array of mind boggling combinations of american cuisine coupled with almost every influence you can imagine. The professional waitstaff is attentive, polite, and void of smug-ness. Although frequently refered to as "pricey", the portions are fair to bulging, and the flavors compensate any shortcomings... currently enjoying their first anniversary, i hope it's not the last... a real gem, with a menu that is truly one of a kind...

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dressler, it is perfection. The food is incredible, everything i've ever eaten there has left me ranting about how good it was for days. Save room for dessert for sure, the bread pudding is beyond ridiculous and hazelnut semifreddo is also freaking amazing. The price of food is very low compared to other restaurants on par with this one, great value. Go for dinner, brunch is delish, although pretty much the same as sister restaurant Dumont, which is actually my favorite brunch spot, best eggs bennedict ever. Great interior, especially the gorgeous bar, lighting is cozy, the one negative thing I will say is that sometimes the waitress is a bit cold, although the host is very charming. They also sell out of dishes on busy night which can make you sad if you have favorites, but every substitute dish I've ordered has been so good that it's made me glad that they ran out of what I actually wanted! If you don't live in Brooklyn, this one is definitly worth the trek!

My friends and I tried Dressler for the first time last weekend and we were gifted with one of the best meals we've all had in a long time. Each dish was executed perfectly; even the simple mixed greens salad was dressed with just enough herbs and acid to make it stand out. Some must-trys: pan-roasted scallop, day boat cod with succotash, Berkshire pork chop & belly (should be named best dish in NYC!), crispy artichoke side dish. Given all that, we somehow managed to have just enough room for dessert, and the caramel trio proved to be the perfect ending. Service was warm and professional, and the restaurant itself felt very comfortable. Definitely a top place in Williamsburg!

I love Dressler. Delicious, well-made food, unique dining-room and wonderful service. Great place for special occasions. Great meat and fish dishes. Fresh and tasty oysters too. Go to www.eatbrooklynfood.blogspot.com for photos and more descriptions.

It's been about one month since I visited Dressler, and I still think about the delicious food I had there. I had read about the Michelin Star, so my expectations were high. I was pleasantly surprised that this restaurant has an incredibly relaxed vibe to it, unlike many other highly rated restaurants. I had the seared scallop appetizer, which was done extremely nicely, the hanger steak and short rib, which was great and comforting, and I also tasted my fiancee's braised pork shank, which is a unique flavor that is the best of savory American food, yet paired with the slightly sweet and sour cabbage to balance it out. We had the pumpkin bread pudding for dessert which also was a nice symphony of textures and flavors. The waiter even threw in a lovely dessert wine for free. I loved this restaurant, and I'll be sure to try it again sometime.

I highly recommend this restaurant. On a cold January night, it felt good to step into the warm dining room with its glow and the buzz of conversation. The service was good (one nit pick: they forgot to come by our table with bread) starting with the friendly greeting at the door from the host & hostess to the hearty "What'll you have?" from the barman--the staff was as welcoming as any I've experienced in NYC. Artichoke salad was AWESOME (I think it was flash fried) and the char was tasty and well prepared with delicious vegetables on the plate (brussel sprouts? carrrots?). We shared an appetizer of oysters, which were fresh and briny. Dessert was good too. All for $70 per person with tip and wine, not including the drinks we had at the bar ahead of time. I love the feel of the place, the tables, the mosaic tiles, the intricate stenciled designs on the walls. Fresh and hip without putting you off. The attitude is very relaxed among the patrons, a mostly 30 something & 40 something crowd.

This is a really wonderful place. Went on a first date. Definitely a romantic place to dine. The pictures on their website are very realistic - they depict the place very well. My date and I both ordered fish and both dishes were wonderful - well presented, executed, delicious. I will be going back here for sure. Also had the chocolate souffle - excellent and recommended. The service was good (nothing to complain about), but everything else about this restaurant outshines the service. If you want to impress your date, you can't find a nicer place for it!

We went here for a special occasion and couldn't have been happier. The food was amazing, so many flavors, really ambitious dishes. Even the cocktails are incredible. I was riding a high when we left.

My single visit to Dressler was a pleasant one. Attentive but laid-back service was a nice thing. Though I think that the design of the room and the Rye and Ginger cocktail were the highlights, the food was also rather good. Everything was very flavorful -- I especially enjoyed the roasted tomato tart and hazelnuts in the baby beet salad.
