I absolutely enjoyed the Lobster Roll at Ed's. We picked up two rolls to go and they were wonderful. Walking in to Ed's was very cute with most people dressed in their hamptons seersucker attire. Overall a nice experience.

Living in between Ed's and Pearl / Mary's we've had the opportunity to try all three. Overall, Ed's has more really great things on the menu than the other two. The Lobster Roll to me is the best of the three -- admittedly a close call and subject to personal taste. The Fried Ipswich Clams are outstanding as are the Lobster Ravioli and, while not a fan of tartar sauce on my seafood, Ed's is so good I ate it by itself. I even thought the pickles were something special. Clam Chowder, agreed, is not the best but it's OK. Nice wine list, super gracious staff -- it's a winner.

I was disappointed on my first trip here because I received a watery bowl of chowder devoid of clams and a limp Caesar. Well, my visit back last night was an entirely different experience. A friend and I had planned to grab a bar dinner at Morini but blew out of there when informed there was an hour wait and were very glad we did. We instead popped into Ed's for what was a fantastic New England style feast. Delicious, thick, rich chowder served piping hot with oyster crackers, great beer on tap, awesome jumbo shrimp cocktails, and a first rate "lobster bake" complete with a perfect soft shell Maine lobster, potatoes, sweet mussels and STEAMERS!. Service was pleasant and our seats on the counter made it the perfect guys night out dinner.

Steamed lobster - refrigerator cold inside, hot outside...fully cooked... Conclusion: not cooked to order. Since it was lunchtime, it may even have been leftover from the day before. The waiter offered to throw it back into boiling water to heat more thoroughly and was surprised when I preferred to wait for them to make a fresh one (but was it???). So, 15 minutes after my guests were served, I got my 1-lb lobster. I was charged for a 1.5 pounder because they only serve 1.5 pounders (sorry, years of summering in Maine...I know my lobster sizes). No offer of complimentary anything for the inexcusable meal. I live around the corner. I love lobster. But not here --- make me a fool once, shame on you...make me a fool twice --- shame on me.

Lobster roll and oyster sampler are amazing. Good wine and beer selection. Only negative was that the service was slow at points.

The staff here was so incredibly kind and accommodating. From the moment we walked in until the minute we walked out the door, they went out of their way to take care of us. Which of course always makes the food taste better. My lobster salad wasn't a show stopper, per say, but the simplicity of it was refreshing. One person in my group became a lobster convert after eating reluctantly ordering the lobster roll. I didn't have a bite but everyone in my group was very happy at the end of the night.
