WE ORDERED BREAKFAST 2 ORDERS OF THE CRUNCHY FRENCH TOAST W/ STRAWBERRIES, A CARMINES OMELETTE, FRUIT SALAD AND 3 OJS (TOTAL $51.90)THEY ALL SOUNDED REALLY GOOD ON THE MENU BUT THE ACTUAL FOOD WAS AWFUL AND RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE. THE DELIVERY MAN WAS UPSET THAT HE DIDNT GET A BIGGER TIP ALTHOUGH IT SUPPOSED TO BE FREE DELIVERY AND THEY ARE ONLY A FEW BLOCKS FROM US. WE COULD HAVE ORDERED FROM MCDONALDS AND HAD A BETTER MEAL.(DECOR IS NOT APPLICABLE WE HAD A DELIVERY)

Went to EJ's for Sunday Brunch with a group of friends. The place was extremely crowded which is what to be expected. We had a waitress who tried to hide her heavily bandaged hand with a latex glove and provided the worse service we have ever experienced. Shewas exceptionally slow, mixed up our orders and became annoyed when asked to correct them. At the end of our meal, to our horror, we say a huge roach crawl from the back of our booth. We informed the manager of our unwelcomed guest and he simply killed it and walked away. We all agreed that this would be the first and last time we patronize this establishment.

Went to E.J.s for the first time on this trip to the city, after seeing my daughter in her debut in the Fringe Festival the night before, because a friend of her's works there. Good move! The decor is diner retro without being overdone, but the food is a very different mix of styles and genres. I had the corned beef hash but one of our group had the sweet potato turky hash and it was really tasty - not overly sweet and lots of meat, just the thing for your AM protein fix with the fried eggs laid over it. Yowsuh! You could go there any time of day and get something you like, the menu covers a lot of ground and the variations that they take on American classics, and other cuisines, are intelligent and tasty. Ever had eggs Benedict with salmon? You should! Solid food, classic decor, quick staff and lots of smiles on our Sunday morning - we'll be back there for brunch the next time a visit to the city permits it.
