We had dinner on New Year's Day and even with a very large crowd everything was exceptional. Service was wonderful and food was great, appetizer, salad, main course and dessert. We felt like we were part of a big family, had fun and there was no pretentiousness.

We used to be regulars for years since service used to be great and delighting food. This last two years we have been going there less frequently becuase the FOOD is TASTLESS compared to what it used to be. We ordered a plate of calamari as our appetizer and were disappointed by the flavor of the sauce. The calamari were like rubers with sauce with no flavor. As my main course, I ordered the Fettuccine Amatriciana. Again no FLAVOR and the pasta looked like a flour-ball. I thought the pasta was handmade but could have heard the waiter incorrectly. My friend's fish had a rooten smell and TASTELESS SAUCE. I would not go back anymore and would not recommend to anybody! What happened, the CHEF lost the TOUCH!

I guess it helps when you know 2 people at the bar leaving and you can take their seats since the table scene is a little over crowded but either way you look at it this place is more than legit. Honestly what do you expect from one of the BEST Italian eateries on the UES? The Veal Meatball special is out of this world. Meatballs are not overwhelmingly big; they are actually rather small making it easy to work with. My date had the Fettucini speacial with Porcini Mushrooms...ridic!! The bartender was VERY friendly...I do not always expect that from upscale eateries...especially a place like this that caters to a high end crowd. If you keep your head on a swivel and you are not completely focused on your gorgeous date, as I was, you will see at least two famous faces in there. Great Date spot but could be a little busy if you are looking for a quiet night. Fantastic for a special occasion. I wouldnt go with a group larger than say 5 or 6. And if they have it...Dont kid yourself ...get the Spaghetti and Meatball special.
