I went to this little Bistro with my girlfriend and a good friend of ours (his recommendation). I immediately felt the ambiance at this lively place. The entrance replicates an old school Parisian Tabac store and can be quite elusive. I find this extremely cool and it adds a great touch in my opinion. The people were hip, the bartenders competent and friendly, and the tunes were great. The Lounge was well decorated and complimented the whole vibe extremely well. The dinning room was very different to the Lounge nevertheless fantastic in its own right. I thought the host of the restaurant was extremely friendly and attentive. Our waitress was friendly and not over powering– she wasn’t pushy, rude, and just let us enjoy our dinner. The food was good. I had Mussels in white wine sauce and Frites. Although not the best I have ever had, they certainly were tasty and quite enjoyable. The wine was great and in-expensive and resulted in some great laughs. This is a fantastic place to grab a good dinner, enjoy some good stories amongst friends and drink some tasty wine before a night out in Lower East Side.

Somebody had a cute idea of creating the exterior of a Tabac - complete with postcards and French items, which is attached to the bistro, where we enjoyed a drink with fresh anchovies to start ($4 for 6). I'd recommend the choucroute, which is a wonderful version of the dish for about $14, which my husband enjoyed. I had the duck confit - a little too fatty for my taste and I was able not to finish the accompanying roast potatoes. All that means is there were plenty of them but they weren't addictive. A small salad was included. They have cheap wines and the place has a youthful feel.

Great duck confit, very helpful staff, a little cramped but that's to be expected at many of these downtown bistos. Impressive wine list as well.
