Poor service, mediocre food (vs. its peer group) and a terrible attitude by help and the maitre d', how does this over-rated Italian restaurant survive? Way past its prime, and there are so many better Italian eateries, diners should just say NO, and move on.

Went there for dinner and was excited having seen Zagat ratings touting the place as romantic, charming etc. with wonderful Italian food. Hated the claustophobic, tiny and dark room with uber-cramped tables, and, nasty hanging lamps with croched doilies hang over some tables. Everyone else can hear your conversation. Would have let that pass if the food was great, which it wasn't. Had sauteed artichoke as appetizer, for about $15 it was nice but no more than that, and had no discernable flavor. Black handmade pasta with shrimp was very pedestrian, with 5 small shrimp. Tiramisu was forgettable. I could have gotten a much tastier meal, of much better value in much more pleasant surroundings at the Cheesecake Factory
