Fish basically a bland food, tastes like cardboard. You've got to do somethng to it to get flavor. Here, they add olive oil and lemon.and.... nothing! Or I should say a very high price nothing. Our ballata fish was about $50/lb for a 3 pound fish. We (4 of us) got about 5 ounces each and the same amount from a black sea bass, @$34/lb.The appetizers were excellent. The fried zuchini chips and cheese was superb as were the shrimp. The carbonated water is, are you ready?, nine bucks a bottle. Desserts were hit or miss and at those prices they should have all been hits....but weren't You want tasty fish, you go to Le Bernardin.

It is said we only live once. I say, this is where you want to eat when you live once. I am from California and have not yet eaten at a restaurant like this. Eating anywhere in New York you almost can not go wrong. Dining at Milos restaurant is special. The service, food quality and ambiance is what I feel makes Milos restaurant completely standout.

Completely overrated restaurant. Greek food is among my favorites, but I could have gone to Astoria and gotten higher quality Greek food for much cheaper. The menu is limited, the food bland, and there's nothing special. This does not deserve the price tag. Save your money and go somewhere else rather than wasting money on mediocre Greek food.

It seems alot of the poor ratings below emanate from either unfortunate incidents (stolen Camera, Valentines issue etc) which certainly seemed to have been poorly handled, or incorrect expectations. This place is undoubtedly expensive, and you can spend $100 per person easily (my experience is about 75-85 per head with decent entrees and appetizers not including drinks). And it is Mediterranean, not Cajun, so the spice is minimum. Go here for Fresh Mediterranean (no frills but delicious) fish the likes of which you don't really find elsewhere in the City and (in my experience) attentive service. I don't particularly love the decor but the Fish table is cool. Except for my first time there (I've been about 5-6 times now over a 2 year period) we have had them "feed" us where the waiter picks a fish or two for the table and I can absolutely say we have not been ripped off as someone suggested below. The staff has been very nice each time and the food has been not just good but outstanding EVERY time I have been which is why I keep returning.

Milos is a very upscale restaurant with a cavernous dining room and floor to ceiling windows looking out onto 55th Street. We had lunch there ($90.00 w/tip) on a Wednesday. The appetizers (oysters and avocado w/shrimp) were excellent as was the very fresh fish for the main course. The service was less than stellar and the waiter who served us bordered on the surly. After leaving him a decent tip of about 18% for service I did not rate as terrific he didn't even have the good business sense to say thank you.

Estiatorio Milos mostly lives up to the justly deserved reputation. Excellent seafood - the freshest fish - is served (emphasis on service) in the austere but nonetheless wonderful first floor cavernous space next to the CITY CENTER on 55th. The wait staff turn the meal into theater - with fresh fish on ice becoming the props. Recommendation - take the advice of your head waiter and you will not go wrong. Expensive but overall worth it.

Went for Valentine's Day with my boyfriend last night. We asked for the regular menu and were told we couldn't order from it. We were forced to get the 5 course special Valentine's menu for $150 per person. They never said this when I made the reservation and I felt like I was duped. When we were done with each course, the dirty plates sat in front of us for 10-15 minutes before they cleared it. Then we waited just as long for the next course to come out. No exaggeration because we started timing it because it was so ridiculous. The food was average, service inattentive and slow. For that much money we should have had a great meal and great service but got neither. Bad all around. We paid just as much at Eleven Madison Park and got a terrific meal and the best service I've ever experienced. I always read these reviews and wonder if what everyone says is true. Now I know. When there are consistent reviews saying this restaurant is overpriced, seriously, listen.

You can never find a place where everything is fresh to the bone. The fish, you don't even know it exist, you cannot find them in your supermaket. Wine list is very extensive. Whoever said that you can never enjoy dinner when you're on a diet . . . The price is right with very big servings of everything in the menu. A definite place to go.

Delicious if somewhat pricey Greek food at its finest. The service has always been excellent!

The only thing that exceeded the poor service and over -seasoned underportioned food were the ridiuclous prices... ordering by the pound sets a new gold standard Milos can not handle. The mysterious by the pound rouse ( with shells included) can reult in a main course of $100.... and drinks starting at $15. After waiting far too long for the main course the hyped entree lobster salad sported more shell and filler than actual substance. ..Throw it back in the sea
