This restaurant obviously does NOT know what it means to take a reservation! We had 7:00 dinner reservations for a Wednesday night, showed up five minutes early, and were the first in line for 7:00 reservations. There was not a single table open in the restaurant, and within five minutes, there were at least FOURTEEN of us waiting who had made 7:00 reservations for varying parties of 2, 3, and 7. The noise was ridiculous, and when finally seated, our table was so small that we ate our meal on appetizer plates. Also, the chicken dish I ordered specifically was described on the menu as "white meat", and was clearly not just white meat. When I pointed this out to the waiter, he brought us a desert (of his choice) for us to split. Ugh! I've been there twice.... the first time and the last time!!

ETHOS rest. besides that on Third Avenue opened at 25 Middle Neck Rd, Great Neck, NY a year ago and is thriving. Also, in September, the ownership took over what used to be Meltemi and reopened it as ETHOS UN, at 705 First Avenue.

With all the Greek diners in New York, it's pretty rare to find excellent Greek food these days. At Ethos, we enjoyed everything we had, from salads, to grilled items, to the tarama and baba...all great. Portions are generous and service is professionals, but overall it's a bit expensive for a neighborhood place, and the seating could be more comfortable.
