As a busy working mother of two I was looking forward to a night out with my girlfriends. it was pouring when we got to the restaurant. the Maitre D (a young woman) demanded to take our umbrellas. We were not given the option to keep them. We had an ok plus experience but when we were ready to leave my umbrella (a $100.00 one) had disappeared. We were able to find the cheap ones but not mine. The Maitre D was busy somewhere else not keeping an eye on people properties that she demanded to keep. She was absolutly not helpfull. The manager was even worse, not apologizing at all and being rude. it was my fault that I gave them my umbrella and that I had to leave my name if somebody returned it. Please an expensive missing umbrella, when all the cheap ones were still there!!!! All I wanted was an apology, I was NOT looking for any compensation and all I got was BAD ATTITUDE. Never ever and I am spreading the word.

my friend and i both got bad food poisening from this place, we thing from the french fries dipped in gorgonzola cheese. Furthermore, the place is way overpriced and not worth the wait. Another time when I went, they charged $21 for a very simple pasta dish consisting of penne with red sauce. The West Village has far better and cheaper restaurants to offer.
Awesome food, less-than-stellar service

Walked right off the street for dinner for 2 for VDay. Managed to snag a table (although the one near the kitchen) and had a delicious dinner. The service wasn't good, we had to flag down a waitress to get drinks and then again to get more bread, but it was nice because we were in no hurry. There are a large number of fish entrees which is great. Cocktails run around $12 and glasses of wine start at $10. Beautiful restaurant, highly recommend.
This is my favourite restaurant!

I love this restaurant.... especially in the winter, whenever you can rap up in scarves and coats, and sit outside......the service is excellent, the food is excellent!!! Its a beautiful spot!
Service faulty at first, but redeemed in the end

Ate dinner here last night with a bunch of friends. Found it a little annoying that they wouldn't seat an incomplete party (5 of 6 were there!) even though the restaurant was 3/4 empty. Waitress was very attentive for about five minutes and then disappeared... we had to flag her down to get her to take our order. Food arrived after about 40 minutes, which was a little long, and then one friend's chicken was very undercooked (i.e. raw). Again we had to hunt down the waitress, but she was very nice about taking it back and offering my friend something else entirely (she took them up on it) and then comped us two desserts. Feel like most places would just take it back and stick it back in the oven for a few minutes so I was definitely impressed by the reaction. All-in-all it was good, not amazing. I'd definitely go back, but probably more for the bar than the restaurant and especially for one of their summer drinks (raspberry mojito... yum!).

It's been a long time since I've been to a restaurant that cared so little about a patron's experience. My dining partner and I each ordered a meat dish, which arrived 4 minutes later, TEPID WARM. What?! They actually served us cooked meat in less time than it would have taken us to go to the restroom, and it arrived WARM! When we complained to the waitress, she duly removed our plates. But when they came back with our food 10 minutes later, they brought us, unmistakably, the EXACT SAME PLATES AS WE HAD FIRST RECEIVED, only this time, they had been heated up more. WTF?! I've never been treated by a restaurant so contemptuously before. But don't take my word for it. Feel free to waste your time and money (and sense of self-respect) at this awful excuse for a restaurant. Just don't complain later that you haven't been warned...
Good food, just one big problem

I thought dinner at Extra Virgin was very yummy. I also appreciated the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff and host (even though the wait was horrific). BUT, I did not appreciate seeing a fat little mouse scurry from under the server station to the bar! Gross. Obviously, I understand this is a perennial new york problem. But, there is a way to fix it. Either get an exterminator (not recommended) or pull all the furniture away from the walls and stuff the cracks and holes with steel wool and caulk. It's happened to all of us. Seriously, it's not that difficult.
Great addition to G Village

Archetypal, yet fresh as a virgin. Fits beautifully with the Greenwich Village model like a missing puzzle piece. Had brunch on Sunday-Eggs Benedict were plump and delicious. Wife loved the baked eggs. Coffee just right, and we'll be back for dinner!
