Look, it's not like it was bad... But, with all the hype it really does dissapoint. It's just average. The service is fine, but the decor is awful - really needs a re-do. The food was a bit tired. The special house ravioli are good, but others seemed glue-like. The appetizer of poached egg over asparagas came solid (and the waiter said it was supposed to be that way - hmmm...). Steak was nice and so was the quail (though a bit dry). But again, there was nothing really special. I think the owners put all their time in to Del Posto. If you don't want to spend the money for Del Posto, try Becco -- the Bastianich place over on Rest Row that has much more flavor (though not as comfortable as Felidia).

Excellent food and service. The restaurant is a shining example of fine Italian dining - definitely make reservations.

After eating at Becco a few times we decided to cross the park and try Felidia. We were so delighted that we did! What a dinner. Truly fantastic food, delicious pastas, fabulous veal and the best tiramisu I've had in years. Service was friendly too, we didn't feel rushed at all. I will definitely be back.

Went there twice , both dissapointing even with second chance. Had the shrimp dish, smallest shrimp I ever saw. Service was awfull even though they tried. I wrote to them complaining they did not have the decency of a response. Save your money try something else.

We thoroughly enjoyed dinner at Felidias. This restaurant was recommended by friends that live in the Upper East Side. The service we received was impeccable. We had the Branzino Alla Griglia and the lamb chop. Both were mouth watering and cooked to perfection. We paired dinner with their fantastic Bastianich wines. I was truly surprised to read negative reviews. I cannot imagine this place being anything less than perfection. We will be back to try other things on the menu!

I was looking forward to eating at Felidia after reading so many good reviews. Went with a large group for the tasting menu and we were sold something completely different. The wine list was very extensive but the Sommeliers were absolutely inept and we were met not only with attitude and arrogance but also a complete lack of knowledge about what to pour and when. Considering that multiple thousands were spent on wine one would assume that the service would have been exemplary. Instead we were met with a "too busy" attitude. The risotto, which had been recommended, was absolutely terrible and unedible. Just avoid this place, it's absolutely not worth the time and money. The only thing that saved the meal was excellent company and our easygoing nature.

I enjoyed a lovely meal here this past week. I'd read a lot about waiting forever for tables, but we certainly didn't. (May have also been because it was a Tuesday...) The beet risotto and pear/pecorino ravioli made my night. Also, order the antipasti if it's available. Ours had venison, duck, pork and boar. The veal three ways was delicious as well. I may have never had better sweetbreads!

Lunch at Felidia

Cuisine was wonderful! Totally disagree with negative reviewers. Food and service were top drawer all the way. I had the price fix lunch: pear ravioli, pollo limone, orange liquer tiramisu. Portions not too large, not too small. Filling but not bellybusting. Most enjoyable. A tad more upscale than Becco, but didn't go for the decor. Ms. Bastianich's restaurants are top notch. Next will try DelPosto. PS..LEAVE THE KIDS HOME. Intimate setting where table conversations are the norm. A bit pricey for spirits ($30 for two glasses of wine), but hey, its NYC, and that means iit is what it is. Also location is kind of way up there from the center of things, but its worth it.

It pains me to write this negaitive review,as I have enjoyed Lidia's receips for many years and enjoy her show as well.
I recentally had a Client dinner at Felidias, and it was less than acceptable.
The tripe which is a favorite and ordered in the past , was not served warm and was clearly not fresh.(smell and texture are measures)
The signigure ravoli were tastless and served lukewarn, and were not presented in a fashion deseriving of Lidias cusine, nor the price.
With regrets , I will not return.

What a discouraging experience in every way: reservations do not guarantee a comfortable seat; the waiter determines which specials not on the menu he will describe to you; the servers are clumsy and ill-trained, BUT most disappointing was the mediocre quality of the food. Since we travel to NYC only once a year, a special meal at a few of New York's best restaurants is something we truly look forward to. The waiter made sure we were overwhelmed with the white truffle choices, but he failed to mention the risotto. Another tourist couple wasn't even given the white truffle choices! I hope Felidia can continue to count on the ignorance of us PBS viewers or the loyal New Yorkers who are willing to pay high prices for mediocre Italian food.
