I have been going here for years, and it pleasantly hasn't changed very much as the rest of the neighborhood has imploded. When I lived on the corner I would have dinner here at least twice a week. The food is far from gourmet, but it is consistently delicious and the portions are huge. Margaritas are under $4 and strong. A great neighborhood place in an area with far too few.

I ate here last night with some friends largely based on the strength of the reviews this place got. I feel like I ate at a completely different restaurant. The food was unseasoned, mushy, and just completely flavorless. I cannot believe anyone could think this is excellent Mexican food. It was horrible.

This family run restaurant is cozy and a fun place for dinner with a small or large group. The shrimp al diablo and bistec a la Mexicana are my favorite. I have frequented this restaurant since there was a small Mexican community in NYC and have seen the once seedy and abandoned neighborhood change into a budding yuppie environment. Festival has been a nice restaurant away from the crazy and has excellent service. The decor is bright and festive and the food is delicious. I recommend it highly and look forward to taking my girlfriends there again :)

I'm partial to the chicken mole enchiladas. The frijoles refritos are good, and so is the avocado salad. DO NOT eat here, though, if you have any sort of expectations about how long your meal should take. If you're in a bit of a rush, forget it. if there are more than 3 tables in this place, a kind of meltdown occurs and it can take up to half an hour to get to the next step of the meal. The decor is tragicomic.
