This is backyard barbecue

If you have a good sniffer, or the wind is blowing just right, you'll probably smell Fette Sau before you see it. The perfumed air acts as an aromatic calling card, enticing you and your drooling palate to sample barbecue with a nicely nuanced smokiness. I'm not sure just how many years have passed since the last time I dropped by for a review, but it was long enough ago to say that I found an a beautiful facility this time.

well these days, looks like the 'deli counter style' version of BBQ places is coming in season. between that 'other' place in the city which is more like disney land than a real bbq place, fette sau is the perfect combination of great food, at a great value.

this place is a 10, 10, 10. spell it any way you like... a most impressive selection of barbeque. the line wasn't so bad when i went and the food was awesome. we got a gallon of beer to wash it down... what a selection. amazing bar, amazing food, amazing scene... what more can you ask for... this place kicks (boston) butt.

Love this place. The meat is amazing, the space is cool, and the drink is served in glass jars.

Two words: Pork Belly. The seats outside are sometimes a hard spot to get, the meat selection is excellent. The beer is awesome too.
Best BBQ Ribs in NYC.

This is easily the best BBQ that I have had in NYC since I moved here from Georgia in 1993. Both the Pork and Beef Ribs are AMAZING. My advice is to skip the sauce, which my wife loved but I felt was simply not needed, although it was good sauce. The seasoning on the ribs was just that great. And the fact that there is no waiter service makes it simply more affordable. The only thing that I was missing when I went there was cole slaw.

it has been a long time coming to finally have such a treat in the neighborhood. Fette Sau has a great vibe from the moment you walk in the door. The place wreaks of awesomesauce. I was totally impressed with the burbon selection. i would recommend getting there early, especially on a weekend since the demand outweighs the supply, as is usually the case with amazing BBQ places. The food is quite good, especially the ribs and the pulled pork. I would definately go again, but next time i will go on a weeknight when it's not so packed.

Perfect order for one person is 5/8 lb of meat, a side of broccoli, a side of baked beans and a gallon of beer.

I absolutely loved Fette Sau. I've been to numerous BBQ places around the city and this is near the top. I loved the "hole in the wall" atmosphere. The food was top notch, as well. We got pulled pork, brisket, pork ribs, baked beans, and the slaw, which was very unique. I'm definitely going back!
