I'm so over this place. It used to be good, but now too many people know about it, and you have to wait 30-45 minutes in line on a Wednesday(!) just to get some pork. My past few deliveries from here have arrived cold, the meat has been sub-par, and tonight, when I called for delivery, the girl on the other end was incredibly rude. After having me on hold for several minutes, she comes back to take my phone number, tells me I have to yell it at her because she can't hear, is talking to other people while I'm yelling my number, and then proceeds to get it completely wrong. This repeats, and then, all of a sudden, she starts shouting "hello? hello?" over and over and I'm shouting it back, and then I get hung up on. She had my correct number at this point, but didn't try to call back. Sorry Fette Sau, but you are not good enough for your pretentious attitude. Can't wait until Pies and Thighs comes back!

Love this place. The meat is amazing, the space is cool, and the drink is served in glass jars.

Two words: Pork Belly. The seats outside are sometimes a hard spot to get, the meat selection is excellent. The beer is awesome too.

I'll admit, I got pick-up, but I was so disappointed. Everything- EVERYTHING, was coated in a layer of grease and oil. By the time we got the bottom four inches of the bad were soaking wet. The pulled pork was flavorless and greasy. The boneless ribs were bland and oil slicked, even the brocoli salad was glistening with grease. The only saving grace was the sausage. Those pickles they rave about? Yes, they are half sour, they also only half taste like pickles, but if you love cucumbers, you'll love them. Even the side sauces were bad, the mustard was pretty much like eating straight wasabi and the bbq sauce had a dirty flavor akin to something under your fingernails. Sorry to be harsh, but this place is way overhyped. Here's hoping better BBQ moves into the hood.

If you're serious about meat, run (don't walk) to Fette Sau! Their meat selection varies daily, but I've always found the boneless beef ribs, pork ribs, and pulled pork to be finger-lickin' DELICIOUS. (They occasionally have kobe beef shoulder on the menu, which isn't worth $26/lb.) The deli-counter ordering system and communal seating add to the backyard BBQ vibe, not to mention the great selection of beers served in your choice of jug. Of the sides offered, the potato salad is my favorite, but sadly the sauerkraut is only so-so. On the service: the bartender (his name escapes me, but he's always there) is very, very nice, but I did have my first WTF experience with the meat counter guy last night. My boyfriend and I asked for a pound of beef ribs and half of pulled pork, and the server actually said, "All that, for the two of you?" Well, no, but do we really need to explain ourselves? Still, I'll be back for more meat.

This place was terrible. First I'll start with the service. I asked for two chops and the idiot girl says " I'll think I'll give you just one they're pretty big"- um, I asked for two. You're taking money out of your owner's pocket. Then the food was horible. Very bland. that's not barbeque. The sauce was horrible. You could not really smell the food- which is key to any good place. To top it off, employee after employee went outside to smoke and then returned to serve without washing thier hands..nasty. Over-hyped.

loved this place when it first opened despite the long wait for food & a table. something has changed and i'm not sure why. two weeks ago they ran out of ribs on a friday at 6:45pm. last week the wait for food was ridiculous! the place was empty and i was taking it to go. they only have one person at the counter who is on his own time. when i did get the ribs they were all fat and grease, no flavor or meat. i kid you not, this place is not worth the effort which is too bad cause beer and potato salad rock.

Moist, expertly seasoned meats, spicy, meaty barbecued beans, delicious pickles, fluffy dinner rolls, spot-on (if austere) decor (they've got an entire wall devoted to diagrams of cuts of meat!) and a large selection of BBQ-appropriate beverages (local beers and the best bourbon selection I've seen in Brooklyn): these are a sampling of the many qualities that make Fette Sau the best BBQ place I've been in NYC and the best I've had north of the Mason-Dixon. Honestly, it holds up to Allen & Sons in Chapel Hill and Salt Lick north of Austin.

no words to describe other than "get me my cash card and get outta my way!!" pounds and pounds of the best bbqed pig (and some lovely moo cow, too!) this side of the hudson, at the ready, on shiny sections of brown butcher paper - so many yummy noises emitted from my ratcheting maw that nearby diners adjusted their ipod earbuds again and again - the brisket, pork ribs and sausage are heavenly....the potato salad forgettable and broccoli confusing (re-do your sides - a creamy potato salad and MAC-N-CHEESE would better compliment the fine fleshy fare!) - aside from that, the place rules - go, now!!!!

This is easily the best BBQ that I have had in NYC since I moved here from Georgia in 1993. Both the Pork and Beef Ribs are AMAZING. My advice is to skip the sauce, which my wife loved but I felt was simply not needed, although it was good sauce. The seasoning on the ribs was just that great. And the fact that there is no waiter service makes it simply more affordable. The only thing that I was missing when I went there was cole slaw.
