We arrived and were told to "wait until our hostess is ready for you" by a rude unfriendly greeter. A man wandered down the stairs showed us to a table and walked away. He did not give us a menu or offer us a drink, a waiter came to clear the table next to us without acknowledging our existence so after several minutes we left. On the way out the greeter didn't even ask why we had changed our minds!!! There are fab restaurants in the area where you can walk in - Sapore a couple of doors along is welcoming with great food. We are from London and had chosen this restaurant from lots of others - presumably top American reviewers get treated better than normal diners!

Good marketing and a nice remodel do not compensate for tired Italian American fare. Pasta dishes were bland at best while other menu items were forgetable. Worst of all, our meal started out with a terrible amuse buche that resembled black roughly chopped humnus but tasted of cardboard. While the food was hardly terrible, prices imply fine dining. Staff is stiff and formal and awkwardly attends to a room of overdressed bridge and tunnel folks.

Service was terrible, we competed all night with a larger table of eight, for the waitress's attention,which we rarely got. Waited twenty minutes to get wine in an empty restaurant. Also given a table near the servers entrance, even though we walked into an empty restaurant with a reservation. The wine server for the table across the restaurant was wedged in next to our chair.Pasta was okay but portion was quite small.Halibut was badly overcooked and veal chop arrived sliced(why sliced??) and tasted like vinegar. Despite numerous previous visits we would never go back. Too many other really good Italian restaurants to choose from. Try Babbo where you always get a great meal. Or if you want to spend less Otto, Da Umbertos, or Lupa where you will have delicous food.

There are better resturants to go to and spend money at, do not bother going here. After being seated my group had to wake 20 minutes before even getting menus, including a wine list. After ordering our drinks, we finally got them after being there for over 30 minutes. I got a drink that is called Citrus, it tasted like a bubble bath, awful. It was so bad, that my friend could not even drink hers. Our food came and it was just okay, portions are small and prices very large. Nothing even looked appealing on the dessert menu! Overall, this place was not worth it!! Babbo is much better and costs around the same!!

I have been here before and it was excellent. What happened? Was it the three star rating? The service was snooty and the food was not good. My main course was a small piece of meat surrounded by five medallions of lard! Our wine sat behind a screen and sat and sat and sat. We had to demand that it be kept on the table. The manger was even more pretentious then our waiter. When we told him our concerns he was indignant. Please return to your old form.

Our two meals were a perfect exaple of what NOT to do with Italian food. In particular the fondue was as heavy as liquid lead, the main courses miniscule and overly sauced. I am reminded of the nouvelle adage, "Took longer to describe than eat." Perhaps the other reviewers went to a different restaurant. All form, no substance!! NEVER AGAIN!! Having lived in Rome 5 years, I can testify this was not as good as the cheapest osteria in Italy.

Following a recommendation for a great experience this was hugely disappointing. We were kept waiting half an hour for our table, even though the restaurant was not full, and a further 10 minutes before the menu arrived. With a compulsory minimum of 3 courses, and limited choice it was hard to decide on our meal. The wine list was extensive, but massively overpriced. The service was far too slow and theatrical for the food that was at best average, the air-conditioning had a mind of its own and the mens restroom had no handtowels. By this stage we were past caring and left, having paid only for the food - even the managment seemed embarrassed by their poor efforts.

I guess I have a problem paying a lot of money for small portions of fancy Italian food. The decor is too pretty and prepared my for an experience the food could not deliver. Compared to their other restaurants, this one won't get my repeat business

Beautiful restaurant, cozy, warm atmosphere upstairs. The service was fantastic and the food delicious. Overall, a great restaurant and the desserts were amazing.

Very "upscale" with low intimate lighting, impeccable service,moderately expensive prices, creative creations and a great wine list to boot. Great "date" place.
