I wish I could write about the food here, but the emphasis here is the terrible service at Flor's. We ordered delivery, which came after over one hour and forty five minutes of waiting and 5 phone calls to the restaurant. The restaurant was content to blame the poor service on the delivery boy (even though the food did not leave until over an hour after we had ordered) and give us a tiny $4 discount. Needless to say, we sent the food back.

I dined here on 7/20/07 and was not impressed. Among my group of friends we tried several arepas, empanadas, ceviches, and a pitcher of sangria. All of the dishes were flavorless - which was quite a shame considering the prices. Even the sangria seemed watered-down. The location is lovely, and the restaurant has a good atmosphere, but I would not come back or recommend it to others.

After our nightmarish travel from points west on the snowiest day in February, Flor's West Village welcome was fantastic! Warm service, tasty food, good wine - the arepas are great and the shrimp and beef to die for. We ate off each other's plates to taste everything and left happy and full. Viva Venezuela!

My dinner companion and I had a wonderful dinner at Flors the other night: the food was delicious, the wine list was intriguing and dessert was fat-free (?!). We started with the mixed empanadas plate (tasty, just right) and I had the Arrozo con Pollo which was exactly what Id hoped for (lighter but substantial). We chose a Siraz blend from Chile that complimented all our different plates. We finished with a brandy cake that our server claimed was fat-free, albeit loaded with sugar. We can only hope because we devoured it. Our only complaint: it took too long to serve the wine (after the appetizer?), but we appreciated the overall, slower dinner pace, which was conducive to great dinner conversation. Ill definitely be going back and recommending this place to other West Village inhabitants.
