Tonights supper at Marc Forgione was OUTSTANDING we had the lobster starter as well as the kampachi tartare, both were amazing, if you like lobster, the lobster was the winner. For dinner we had the monkfish, which was delicious, however, the chicken for 2 was the most YUMMY thing I have eaten maybe ever. The roasted potatoes the juice the crispy skin, there are no words you have to eat it. Yet, the best part of the meal was our wait staff. They were all fantastic. The gentleman who took our drink order gave us a mini tasting and it was so worth it, we enjoyed a greek red that we would never have tried if he did not entertain us with a "blind tasting" the bread was crazy delicious, we could not order dessert because we were too full, in fact we took home leftover chicken, too good to waste! 5 stars for sure, and the setting is beautiful

Stingiest Wine Pour I've Ever Seen

My husband and I dine out frequently and came here on a crisp fall evening, excited to try Chef Forgione's food. We couldn't agree on red or white wine, so we ordered a glass of each. To our surprise, however, the waitress brought us each a tiny, 2-oz. pour, like what you might receive at a winery. We actually thought it was a tasting pour so we could try the wine, but it turns out that was the entire "glass" of wine -- nothing more ever arrived. Adding insult to injury, these "glasses" of wine were $14 each -- a price I don't mind paying for an actual 4-5 oz. glass of wine, but certainly resent paying for a miniscule tasting pour. We paid and left before ordering any food -- something I've never, ever done in 18 years of dining out in Manhattan.

The ambiance was great. The interior decor was the perfect place for this meal and the waitstaff was very attentive. The lobster appetizer is a must and I can't wait to try the brick chicken. Can't wait to go back!

Was totally let down by this highly anticipated restaurant. The omelettes were so light and small that we actually had to go down the street and order a whole other meal. They were supposed to have "market vegetables", but there were none to be found. No greens or salads options were listed for brunch. Overall, the 3 of us were just really disappointed to have spent 72$ on omelettes and coffee. Will not be returning for brunch.

Lobster tail appetizer ( pricey) but excellent. Baby Halibut was absolutely delicious. Excellent sauces on both. Service was terrific ...friendly and attentive staff. Travelled from southeastern MA just to eat here. Not disappointed.

i live in tribeca and was browsing for some nearby places that i hadn't been to yet. found marc forgione on nymag, walked by and it looked like a great atmosphere. little did i know i was in for a fabulous culinary experience. the decor is not totally original, i guess adam platt is right on that one. however the staff is knowledgable and helpful, and the menu is superb. the tartar was phenomenal, very fresh and flavorful. the cod was delicious, cooked to perfection. overall, the experience was wonderful. we sat outside on the terrace and enjoyed a wonderful evening. the wine list is extensive but not overwhelming -- and our waitress was very informed and helped us make the perfect selection. overall: A+ sidenote: the previous night I had dinner at Gramercy Tavern, and my meal at Marc Forgione was much better. more creative, more flavorful and simply better. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Marc Forgione was a welcoming place on a Sunday afternoon for brunch. Marc Forgione takes a little twist on traditional brunch food. The Eggs Benny was wonderfully surprising given the butternut squash home fries serve as the base versus an English muffin. My friend had the French toast and I am not going to lie, I was jealous of her choice and she said it was amazing. The staff was great with prompt service and also shared their personality by actually trying to have an engaging conversation. Highly recommend the brunch and you really cannot beat bottomless mimosas. I have this on my list of places to check out for dinner next time! I loved the decor, rustic with dark wood and metal finishes.

Had a wonderful experience last evening at Marc Forgione! The signature appetizer (tar tar) was fantastic as was the Bass. Friends had the chicken for two which was to die for as well. Perfect spot tucked away in Tribeca!

Two friends and I decided to eat at Forgione last night and I must say, it was one of the best meals I have had in a long time. We decided to be recession chic and use our BlackboardEats coupon for 30% off the total bill - also making it that much more awesome when our bill came. The atmosphere was a trendy mix of rustic modern and faux bois and our waitress Erica was insanely nice and accomodating. The mac and cheese app was very good (less mac and cheese and more of a risotto texture) and the duck was outstanding. We left full and vowed to return for one of their all-you-can-drink nights or suckling pig sliders night. Ahhmayyzinggg.

If you are accustomed to eating in Tribeca you are familiar with mainstays like Odeon, Edwards, ROC, Bouley, Bouley Upstairs, Landmarc, City Hall, et al. I have been to FORGE twice and have had the duck, hanger steak, kampachi, scallops, skate and carrot cake and can say that across the board the food ranks between disappointing and just OK. 5 star prices for 2 star food in my opinion. Much better food can be had within a 5 min walk. Unlike the food, service was excellent. Note that many positive reviews are of cocktails and dessert. There is a good bar scene so I think people are staying for dinner after several drinks clouding their judgment of the food. If you go sober you'll find the food lacking.
