Nice place . Food was average to good. We were a party of 4 Monday lunchtime. We all found the service - at least the guy waiting our table - less than impressive. Superficially efficient , he appeared to find waiting and/or our party beneath him. It was not a good vibe - in fact it was more than a little creepy

Long gone are the 90s when it was cool to be snotty and ask patrons to dish out cash for horrible service and mediocre food. Get with the program. I left work in midtown and met some friends there for a bite. I thought I would get a chance to relax. HA! Forget about relaxing at Frankies. I've been 10 times and I'm done. And cash only? Get a credit card machine. It's 2008. I don't walk around with $300 cash in my pocket. It's suspect. Skip it.

Rude, rude, snobby staff made us feel most unwelcome. Although the food was good, the attitudes and lack of basic, human pleasantries of the staff ensured that Frankie's will never see us again.

Ok, I heard good things so I decided to try it out. I was not impressed. I got the bruchetta as recommended, so did my boyfriend. It's not like it was bad, it just wasnt good. They piled way too much of one thing on a tiny hard piece of bread. Not very many other vegetarian options and the menu was hard to read. However, they had great wine there.

A group of us had brunch at Frankies's. The french toast was damn good, but the rest of the food looked less good. Nice atmosphere, and I would definitely go check it out for dinner. One big disappointment was the Bloody Marys. Our waitress STRONGLY insisted that the Bloody Marys were "Fantastic" or "Fabulous", and they were much lesst than that. I just get put off when people outright lie.

I had heard great things about Frankies, so went to check it out. The staff were friendly enough, although the service was just ok. I found the menu misleading & a little hard to read. When ordering the sweet sausage & polenta, I hadn't been told the sausage was crumbled on the polenta. Had I known, I would have ordered something else. It was like eating saus. & pepper flavored farina. The avocado & pesto crostini was excellent although not enough, they could've put some of the avocado onto another crostini for satisfaction. I found all the portions to be a little on the small side. The pork brasciola was small, but AWESOME, it just needed pasta to go with the sauce - would've been perfect. To have a complete meal you'll spend $20 easy, more if you're drinking.

It was such a disappointment considering the things we have heard about this restaurant. We had to wait an hour for a table, which would not have been bad except that there was, on average, four tables open the entire time and their waiting area is almost the size of their restaurant. The service was cold. They do not take credit cars and do not have an ATM, even though our bill (for two) came to over eighty bucks. The host was rude. Maybe it is just us, but it is really annoying eating at a place that seems to go out of its way to make you feel unwelcome, especially when the food is really good, but not spectacular. Whatever the case, we are not going back.

V-Day Dinner was Pre-Fixed (the usual in NYC for V-Day) and the back alley detached outhouse with exposed brick was quaint. Seating was thirty-minutes late. Our waitress was polite. The pleasantries of the evening ended when the manager informed us that they had another party waiting in the wings for our table and "not to be rude, but could we help them out by moving it along. The bill had to be paid cash though reservation was taken with a CC.. After a spirited discussion we paid $350 in cash. This restaurant needs an attitude adjustment and a appreciation for customers. All the good sausage and meatballs in the world won't save them from the bad reviews and discontented patrons!

I've gone to Frankies 457 twice now and both times the service has been the worst: food takes forever, water glasses rarely refilled, order mixups, you name it. I think on both occasions, there was only a single waiter for the whole restaurant. That being said, the food is delicious. However, the prices seem cheap and you think you're getting a deal but to make a complete meal you spend at least $12-15. (More if you're drinking) If you can, try to sit in the stable in back. It's heated and very quaint. I wish these guys luck. They need to get their act together quick because it's been open almost a year and they're still acting like amateurs.

Not a hello, our table was pointed out to us, order taken, order delivered, check paid, not a thank you, not a smile, not a a word more than was necessary to execute the business transaction. soulless. The staff needs to be taught the difference between service and hospitaliity.
