I have been to this restaurant several times, but have never eaten there (and I never will). On several occaisions I have tried to have dinner here, only to be confronted with an estimated hour-long wait. There are too many good Italian reastaurants in Park Slope to waste your time (Sette, Al Di La, etc). On my last visit to Franny's, it was almost 9pm on a Tuesday night. There were couples crammed in to nearly adjoining tables while three or four 4-person tables sat empty. The hostess led us to a tiny table she pulled away from another couple already seated. I kindly told the hostess that we (myself+1) would prefer to sit at a larger table. She balked, saying that other patrons would be jealous and that "it could get busy later". Rather than wedge ourselves into the "table for two", we left and had a wonderful dinner at Miriam, where they graciously seated us at a large table. I guess Franny's doesn't need (or want) the business, which is a good sign in this economy.

Ordered the specialty of the House--meatball pizza. Mediocre at best.Price was $18.31 with tax and tip!Feeds--one small baby. Checked out other tables for appetizers-portions all miniscule.airconditioning-nonexistent.Small water glass with no ice. After meal, met the couple who ate a complete dinner next to us shopping at Key Food--probably were still hungry!

NY MAG- Paid off by Publicists

NY Magazine's shameful review on Franny's is total crap. They have a cozy relationship w/ Franny's publicists and wrote a totally over the top review. The pizza is average at best at Franny's and everything is ridiculously overpriced. The service is a horror show. They think they are all that - please... At these prices- I can eat way better at Lupa or Al Di La.

I went with my boyfriend at 5:30 pm on a sunday night. the host said she could not seat us, along with about other 20 people crammed into the bar area, despite many empty seats. She said the kitchen couldn't handle so many people so she was spacing the guests out. then she suggested we sit at the bar, and added, "we can't serve you food there either". It was very disappointing

Eliot Spitzer should investigate your reviewer. Does he/she have a stake in the place? Frannys was a complete joke. The wait was obscene, the service farcical and the pizza and apps were dull, small and...mediocre. To think you mention it in the same breath as the mighty Lombardis. I swear you must be on something. It is just another Brooklyn restaurant that puffs its chest at Manhattan's best and fails to deliver.

the prices are RIDICULOUS for the amount of food you get. i paid $15 for stuff shells and honestly, i counted FOUR SHELLS (not the big ones, either), presented on a SMALL plate. the other appetizer was RIDICULOUSLY SMALL for it's price too. the expensive coffee $3.50 SMALL CUP arrived NOT HOT ENOUGH (does that mean $7 for TWO CUPS??????). no refill was offered (at $3.50 per, one might expect that). the pizza edges were black and we had to saw it into portions becase they gave us a giant (extremely thin) pizza UNCUT. that was a chore. real bad presentation. the $8 dessert: shockingly small (too small to share). these owners might have a good idea in some way, but are DELUSIONAL on portion size & price. i'll not go again - don't get their concept of STINGY PORTIONS. FRANNY'S WILL OVERCHARGE YOU A LOT FOR FOOD & YOU WILL LEAVE HUNGRY. THIS DOESN'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH SUSTAINABILITY, LOCAL PRODUCE OR ORGANIC. THERE ARE A LOT OF EATERIES IN NYC & BKLYN TO PAY $80 FOR 2 & LEAVE HUNGRY, ORGANIC OR NOT. DON'T FALL FOR THIS, PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!

Terrible service and over-priced wine list

Our waitress rolled her eyes at our mispronunciation of an item on the menu. She was horrible throughout, giving little attention to her tables and a large doses of attitude with every interaction. It was a painful night, and we regretted bringing our friends here. We would never go back there. The wine list is unimpressive and carries a heavy mark-up. Their least expensive wine is poor table wine, and is grossly over-priced. This place is an over-rated pizza joint.

Save yourself some cash--buy some Boboli and burn it in your oven with a bit of cheese--you now have delicious pizza jerky that you can chew on during long trips. If you'd rather wait in line to cram yourself into a tiny table and spend a lot of money to eat a glorified pizza cracker, go to Franny's. In both cases, bring a jar of sauce. It's dry! I don't want to detract from the service however. The bartender made me a mediocre martini, but did it quickly and asked me how it was. The host and waiter were both focused and efficient. But really, the pizza was god-awful, and pricey! Go to Saraghina instead.

Went with a large group - was more shocked to receive an invite to a "gig" by singer/waitress Sunny Ozell than to get our pizza. The food while descent was over priced.
