There is nothing better than spending a couple hours shopping in Barney's followed by lunch with a few girlfriends at Freds. We love the salads and always order the pomme frites....A very nice place to rest from shopping and people watch. If you are planning a day out make a reservation.

hefty shot of armagnac for a reasonable price service was friendly, easy going food was great, very good, thought reasonably priced AND no problems getting in during XMAs shopping season and was very nice to take a load off my feet only issue, was minor, seats are worn out, webbing sags and you wind up on the wood supports chicken livers in wine on toast appetizer was excellent

I wouldn't go here just to eat unless I were already shopping. Even then on the weekends when you would have to wait 45-1hr it just isn't worth it. Weekdays are the best.

Just like the Flintstones, Fred's restaurant goes perfectly with Barney's department store – both being sophisticated and very Manhattan. The food is interesting and darn good, the service is more than adequate, and the views as well as your fellow diners are great viewing- just like you. Enjoy.

What a great lunch spot to be seen or to see the "ladies who lunch," and the celebs. Surprise, Suprise, the food is great. Salad's are wonderful, pizza's great with thin crisp crusts. Pasta dishes overdone, so stick to the other great menu offerings.

Went for dinner alone, remembering the old restaurant downstairs which I really liked. This 9th floor restaurant was more formal, but not so attractive. It was a Wednesday evening around 6:30. Not many people. Sat me off by myself and was assured it would get busier, but it never did. Ordered steamed red snapper which appears first on their fish courses on the menu Portion was ample, but dish was bland and visually unappealing. It was pricey for this dish $28.00. Waitress was pleasant, but not very professional. Bread and olive oil dip was the best part of the meal.
