DON'T be fooled by the owners who are posting and trying to hype up their own business. this has nothing to do with being pampered in any way as I have traveled much of the world and do not need or expect that. what IS expected though, is common decency. I have been several times and been looked past b/c of the fact that my wife and I are not korean. koreans are this way by nature, but it is particularly bad at this restaurant. Do not come here unless you want to see all the koreans fed before you get to order. that's including those that come after you.

Do not kid yourself over here - this is a place for oxtail soup, and cold appetizers. And brilliant kimchi. If you would like to be coddled and cooed during amazing Korean fare, try visiting Persimmon (also highly recommended but a very different experience). Gahm Mi Oak is serious about a few dishes, and if you are serious about experiencing them, this is the place to go. NOTE: One must salt his/her own soup.

This place makes great Sulong Tang even compared to the restaruants in Seoul. Service was prompt and efficient. The Kimchi they serve is one of the best in town. For the food, service, and decor this restaurant has, they charge a surprisingly reasonable amount of money for a well-portioned dinner.

This place has by far the best Korean food in NYC!!! I don't what that idiot reviewer who had bad service was complaining about. The service was fast, efficient and very friendly. The food was outstanding as we had all sorts of traditional Korean dishes. Try the Soon-dae (blood sausage stuffed with vermicelli noodles, like a boudain). Or sulong tang, which is a very hearty oxtail soup. I frequent this place as I work around the corner for lunch and dinner as well as the late night (yes, it's open late nights on weekends). And by far the best Kimchi in town!!! don't be mislead by some bitter jerk-off who probably would be just as critical anywhere else. Peace!!!
