You should go for the Fresh Salmon with sauteed tomato sweet onion sauce - it's worth it for that alone! Forget the tasting menu (we didn't the first time, and it's ridiculously expensive) go straight for the sushi/sashimi. The quality of fish is superb and the meal will be one that you will not forget any time soon.

Sure, it's expensive, but the fish is velvet. Chirashi was surprisingly plentiful (salmon roe, yellowtail, and seared salmon were particularly excellent). Friend had chef's sushi assortment which was probably an even better call -- each bite was a well-designed taste. Who would ever put almonds on raw tuna? And it was seamless. Wines were surprisingly lame, and service was a bit oblivious, but overall a pillar of uws cuisine.

This restaurant would be on my once a week list if I could afford it. That said, once a month it will be. Begin w/the braised short ribs -- they are delicious. Then sushi -- get the chef's specials: Tuna w/tofu sauce, Salmon w/grilled tomato, Yellowtail w/jalipeno, Eel w/avocado, "Salad" Sushi -- everything melts in your mouth. I highly reccomend their desserts as well. You will not be disappointed -- unless they turn you away because you haven't made a reservation. Enjoy.

The sushi was excellent. If your wallet can handle it, eat at the sushi bar and allow the chef to prepare for you what is fresh and recommended. Service was fine, if unremarkable, and the previous reviewer complaining sounds a bit cranky. The problem may have been that much of the staff are Japanese speakers and English is a second language.

We waited 3 weeks after they opened thinking the service, kitchen etc would have time to settle in but it made no difference. We had to almost beg to order and no one could explain any of the meals on the menu!!
