My husband and I went there for a dinner w/ some friends from out of town, this was our 2nd times. The first time we went there about 2 years ago, So we came back for some cocktails, sushi, maki rolls and roasted chicken w/ side order of thai fried rice, this time it was.... BLAH.. not so much into it w/ the price on the menu! We love the cocktails.. well.. i love the lychee martini :) but the rest of our meal was not impressive at all. To start.. they forgot to put salt on our edamames, our chicken salads was ok... and we felt worse after we found out that they put MAYONAISE as part of ingredients for the dressing!!! It said only sesame vinaigrette, but they put Mayo in it (We found out after i asked our waiter to ask the cook about the dressing)..NOT GOOD for lying to customer, the roasted chicken was dry, not juicy at all and thai fried rice??? NO TASTE at all!!! we've been to Thailand, & the person who brought our food was rude!.. finally the sushi... we ordered some sushi, sashimi and rolls... some of them were good, but our eel sushi was chewy, our spicy tuna roll.. the rice was too dry, looked like they been pre-made.. not fresh!!! and our california roll was all sesame... to much.. dry not firm. Last thing is the staff.. they talk too loud and we could hear them yelling and shouting in the sight.... definitely not worth it coming back.. we live around the corner from this joint and too bad.. good location, lovely dÃ©cor but terrible food!!! disappointment....

Fans of Nobu, my husband and I were in a rut and tried Geisha instead---ugh. I would go to Bond Street or Nobu 100 times before I go back to Geisha. I am happy to spend $150/person for great sushi, but I expect good service along with it. The food was average and the service was terrible. We asked for some avocado to go with the unexciting fish and our waiter said he wouldn't bring it. My husband, already frustrated with their being "sold out" of the wine we ordered, jokingly offered $20 for an avocado and the waiter scowled, brought us some and charged us.

Geisha is a Japanese influenced jewel box but it is not Japanese. The fusion cuisine has ties to classic Japanese cuisine, but the interpretation to western standards is almost always correct. A few missteps are over looked by the great service and the soothing dÃ©cor.

Very exotic - its all in the name! Think the bar itself is overrated - the seats aren't that comfotable and there is not enough space or privacy for groups. They have a nice cocktail menu and of course the sake selection is lovely. Now for the truly important things: the fish is very fresh and there are many creative choices. I've tried something different every time and have never been disappointed. The first time I was there, I found two small bones in my sashimi - it was appalling! This has NEVER happened to me and especially not at a restaurant in this price range. I think they were pretty shocked too! They comped our desert but still... Not that it stopped me from going back, yes that is how good it is! My only other criticism is that for the price (yes it is expensive but I am not a believer in budget sushi), they should give you the real fresh wasabi. It is like you cannot be a true four or five star hotel unless you provide shampoo and conditioner separately and not the two in one!

We loved the salads and the rack of lamb. Great flavor understated flavors and sauces. The sushi is good, but the regular menu picks are superior.

you ever wonder what sushi is like? like, you never tried it? go here and sit at the sushi bar, or sit anywhere. you will fiind first that the atmosphere is warm. there is a mellow aura that keeps you here. a tranquil place to come and savor food. the sushi is excellent, my friend says "its like a party in my mouth". th chef is super creative and he has the best assistants. CLEANEST AND TASTIEST!

in my world, there is good sushi - fresh and bad sushi - less than fresh. so when you have fresh fish and attentive service, you have a winner! i have no recollection of the decor so it must not have been extraordinary bad or good. but i know we must have had at least 2 bus boys and 3 waiters, all of whom, quietly allowed my sister to get drunk and loud. nice people, fresh fish. geisha earns my thumbs up.

If you're purpose of going to Geisha is to enjoy the lounge/bar see-and-bee-seen scene, then that's the place to be. But if you're there for the food, then I suggest you spare your precious bucks for a more worthy neo-japanese restaurant (nobu, bond street, or even sushi of gari). The food wasn't that impressive, the service was mediocre...it's nothing different from the rest of the "trendy" asian-fusion restaurants out there.

A lot of people complain about this place, but I have gone at lunch, sat at the sushi bar and gotten quite good sushi. Maybe the scene at dinner is different. On occasion, I have had waitresses who (1) were rude; and (2) appeared brain dead. I think their green tea parfait dessert is one of the finest desserts on the planet (although I suspect if you are a chocolate and coffee person, you may not find it as sublime as I do). The tea, which they charge you an arm and a leg for, is worth it if you like good tea.

Geisha are professional female entertainers who perform traditional Japanese arts on banquets. We didn’t really see the Geisha, however, people watching by the can’t be more packed bar area, was truly entertaining. I love waitress’s black and white uniform, almost like a runway fashion. Your typical “ to see and to be seen “ place.
