I have come here for brunch two times and really enjoyed it both times. The food is your typical short-order breakfast food but with a more homegrown, rustic spin. The scrambled eggs were perfectly creamy and fluffy, the bread was very fresh and their daily market veggie sides are just as pleasing. It's a rustic food restaurant in all ways, thus don't expect any frills. They serve only drip coffee but instead of a diner-esque tasteless brand, you get a deep, dark cup of Stumptown. Yes, the music is a bit too loud and it's difficult to hear the person sitting across from you at the table, but the interior decor and bar area are beautiful and right out the back there is a small garden plot where I reckon they grow their veggies (ok, I haven't asked right out, but it sure tastes like it!). I'd tell anyone to go to Goat Town as it's a lively, bustling place to get a big plate of farm-fresh delights and a wonderful (endless) cup of coffee.

We live in the neighborhood and thought we would try this place out at brunch. The space looked inviting, and the menu looked appealing (and offered several vegetarian options), but it just didn't deliver. The food was mediocre both in flavor and presentation. Here's where a place with great atmosphere and service smooths over so-so food and wins you over, but the service here was actually the worst part of the whole experience. You can do so much better (and for less money) at many nearby places. Sorry, but we won't be going back.

Check this place out! The place is absolutely gorgeous! The service is great! We've been 5 times and every time its just great! Highly recommend it!!

Gorgeous space, which is about all I can say. The fact that it looks so good is almost a drawback, because the food cannot live up to such standards. Our shrimp was room temperature and served with the worst paprika mayonnaise sauce. It tasted more like mud than anything. The tomatoes were past their prime, my boyfriend trout was undercooked and mushy, and everything was either over- or under-seasoned. They were pretty nice when we sent the fish back, but overall, not recommended and NOT going back.

We live in the area and went to dinner there last night - great looking place but the menu and the service didn't match up. Service was nice, when you could get their attention, and the food took a while to come out. They definitely are working out kinks here. The main issue was the menu - very limited and a bit overpriced. The 5 mains start at $20, which is on the higher side for the area, and they just didn't really deliver (we had trout for $25). Also had the burger, which better be good for $16 - it was overcooked and just "OK" and ok doesn't cut it when Black Iron Burger is across the street with better less pricey burgers. With so many good options in the area that do deliver consistently for what you shell out, I doubt we'll go back anytime soon.
