i just had an order of shrimp with mix vegetables and CIGARETTE BUTT! when i called the manager, i was told that no one smokes in the restaurant. this is the last straw for a place that has long been in decline. the service and the delivery staff have always been surly, but now they've taking to acting like the cast of "Waiting." disgusting!

I always liked to go here, especially for the soup dumplings which are consistently delicious. The rest of the food is hit and miss but generally better than the average fast food. Considering that this is Chelsea, there are really not that many choices. BUT OMG! This is the worst service EVER! EVER! I have NEVER EVER experienced rude service and just utter neglect and disregard of the paying customers as in this restaurant. On an average night, 2 of us had to wait 1 hour while they were seating larger parties who arrived long after us at tables just vacated by parties of 2. And, to avoid the confrontation, the "boss" or hostess or whatever in charge wouldn't even look up or give us the time of day. It was as if we didn't even exist. I left disgusted after an hour wait! Take out - maybe! BUT DON'T GO THERE! EVER! DON'T DO THIS TO YOURSELF!

The reviews are mystifying. This is your basic Chinese restaurant: massive, unreadable menu (though I suspect that they misspell intentionally); everything stir-fried; everything old and sour. The egg roll was foul, microwaved to mask the mustiness. So was the pork bun: Yecch. My main was pork with "sour melon," which was acceptable, but certainly not tasty. But the worst of all is the service. The women who serve (and they're all women) speak little or no English. They are rude, obnoxious, and surly. Why would anyone eat here? I suppose that it's the "Chinese experience." Well, that stunt long ago (like a century ago) lost its appeal. F' em. Go to a real restaurant.

My father used to tell me that if a restaurant was packed, it meant the food was good and the place worth visiting. Not Grand Sichuan International. The wait for final call was much too long, and the food hardly above the quality of your typical, street-corner Wong Delight. Maybe I didn't know what to order, but a look around at other tables revealed just a lot of dishes with a lot of average looking food heaped onto them. Service, as other reviewers have indicated, was rude. The servers don't speak English and are extremely impatient. But bad service bothers me a lot less than bad food. The atmosphere was lively. A packed restaurant is always fun. Too bad you can't eat ambience for dinner.

Super food. The crab/pork or just the pork soup dumplings are to die for. The cold asparagus with scallion sauce is likey to give you a new affinity for the pointy green. Kimberly is a sweetheart--though her colleagues could use some of her nice-ness.
