Simple, but amazing

We make this a regular stop on our week-long trips up to Manhattan. It may be small and spartan and the service isn't always the best (or easiest to understand), but the food is perfection. They use real crab, which has tons of flavor even in fingernail-sized bits, and one of their summer specials is an entire salt baked snow crab. I've had beef, pork, crab, noodles, rice, and a number of other items here. Everything is utterly perfect. And for $7 a meal with free oolong tea? You can't go wrong.

Wonton soup came with tasty shrimp dumplings, but roast pork wasn't up to snuff. Better than most, but still not great.

Best Roast duck and BBQ pork in the World?

They have the best roast duck and BBQ roast pork....great wontons with plump shrimp..i usually get the wide egg noodles with wonton either topped with roast duck or BBQ roast pork and dollar extra Chinese broccoli. Also good..seafood with crispy noodles...stir fried snow pea shoots (when in season)...the fluffy, light noodles called yi-mien noodles with crab meat and mushrooms...crispy baked chicken, salt and pepper pan fried shrimp...rice porridge (sampan is my favorite)

LOVED IT

Every time I go to New York we go to Chinatown and ALWAYS eat here! We go with my boyfriends grandmother who has been going there for YEARS! At first I didn't understand why there were other people were sitting at my table but then learned that they are a very busy place and have to seat as many people as possible as soon as possible... regardless of this rushed way, the food is always awesome! They remember who we are every time and know what we drink etc etc. Overall If you go to NY and go to Chinatown, Noodletown is a must! You'll love it!

I was here with a group of people, so I tried a bunch of things (and I'm not picky.) The prices are great, but both the soup and noodles are only so-so. Everything I tried, including the duck, was on the line between "fine" and "not that good."

Soup is only "average"; food is not so good. Read a fantastic review of this place in the NY Times so I ran over there....not worth it.

Late night munchies

Great for late night noodles! I would always end up eating here after a night out when I lived in Chinatown. The food is actually good- probably one of the better places to eat soup noodles. I typically have wonton and roast pork noodle soup. You can ask for a different type of noodle if you don't want the thin egg noodles. Their duck is ok- not very meaty though. Service is super fast and it seems like the samewait staff have been there for a very long time.
