The crust is fair; it needs to be crispier. The mozzarella has very little taste. The sauce is good, but could use better tomatoes. Anyone who has eaten in Di Fara's knows that Grimaldi's is not the number one pizza in New York

I tried to take a friend here and was surprised at how rude the elderly man out front was. Seriously, I'm a nice midwestern girl and I hadn't even started our interaction - he saw me looking at a sign saying that the take out line was the same as the regular line and trying to figure out if I should wait or not, and he asked if I needed help. When I reiterated the take out policy and asked him to confirm that it was true, our conversation devolved into him asking a series of pointless questions meant to make me feel stupid - "What does that sign say?" "What don't you understand about it?" "Oh yeah? How does it work at other pizzerias?" "Have you ever had a pizza here?" "What do you think people come here for?" Belittling your customers is out of the question. Considering Lombardi's is just as good, I'll be taking my business there from now on.

I have never had a horrible, bad or ok pizza at Grimaldi's (I remember the days of Patsi's!). The pizza is always steaming with heat, made with fresh ingredients, and of course just delicious. The dough used is to die for as its crust just hits hard on the outside but soft inside. Just perfect. Each pizza is made rapidly with such details. Unfortunate: Over the past 15 years, I have seen Grimaldi's transform from the hidden-gem-under-the-Brooklyn-Bridge-spot to the overcrowded-with-international/domestic-tourists-spot. That changes the scene and how the restaurant is managed.

Being half Neapolitan, and having lived in Naples and eaten many a pizza, I would have to say I found this place sadly mediocre. We waited outside for about half an hour, and when we were finally seated, the place was loud and cramped. The waiter was a complete jerk ,and the pizza was good, but not outstanding. For a more authentic Neapolitan pizza I would go with Lombardi's or Luzzo instead.

I went for the 1st time to Grimaldi's today. I only recently moved to NYC. It was good pizza. I guess if that's considered the best pizza in NYC, then it's the best. I just don't know if I'll go back anytime soon. I mean, it was good, but it's not like I died & went to heaven. I'll eat at a few other places & come back later. It'll probably take me another time or two, to realize how good it supposedly is.

It's November, it's cold, but we dared the Brooklyn bridge hike because we heard so many good things. The owner is fantastic, and possibly a little in love with my girl (but respectfully so)....the food however was cold, and really, not what we anticipated....there was little flavor that we had to use so many spices, i think were sick.....dessert was tasty with the cannoli's and the vibe is incredible. Overall, poor food, great old guy, and great atmosphere. BTW, take the hike over the bridge, fantastic views.

We took a night stroll across the Brooklyn Bridge and then walked down to Grimaldi's. There was a line outside but it moved very quickly. Grimaldi's was like walking into a scene from a movie, perfect decor for a pizzeria. Our pizza came out of the oven steaming hot, and was cooked perfectly. The staff was very friendly and took great care of us. I can't wait to get back to New York and go back for some more pie

There's a fun energy in this restaurant. The pizza is indeed good, but not the best. Crust a little burny (I kinda like this), very good tomato sauce, the splotches of cheese somehow come out kinda dry. I didn't think the sausage I had was that flavorful.

Saw it on tv. Was taken in by the hype. Way overpriced for what it is. Dirty, messy. Tried to engage the cook about oven etc.,they don't care.Bathroom was a joke.Couldn't get a cab out of there without walking back to Adams. At $20 a pizza you must be making a fortune and not putting anything back into the business for customer enjoyment. The non-ambience cancels the taste of the pizza for me.Clean it up, get some smiling waitresses, mask off the storage shelves and my rating will go from:GRIM-ALL D's to all A's.
