We ordered several dishes to share. They were all tasty but definitely didn't have that flavor which made one feel that the chef in the back was cooking up something above average. Although the pricing was relatively inexpensive, there was not much to squeeze out those "oooo's" and "aaaahhh's" -- or yum! Our $5 mojitios (special) were over-sugared and under-alcholed. In the beginning of our meal, our official waiter seemed too overwhelmed to the extent that someone else covered for him. Plus, there was a bathroom in distress. Before using the bathroom downstairs, I flushed the previous attendant's finishings, but before I knew it, the water started rushing to the toilet's brim and I ran out! Keep an eye on the bathrooms! We also had a dirty plate served to us before the dishes arrived. Bad news bears!

i love bringing people to havana central when they are visiting me in NY. I brought my cousins there yesterday and they couldn't get over the lively atmosphere and how good the mojitos were. Definitely recommend for groups.

Havana Central is more than a theme restaurant. The management and staff are interested in interpreting Cuban cuisine and having New Yorkers enjoy the food of Havana. The menu strays and the kitchen strays even more from real Cuban cooking. But the overall quality, attention and atmosphere make for an enjoyable meal.
